how to stop Stickies at start-up?

Stickies automatically open at start-up -- but they're not listed under System Preferences>Accounts>Startup Items. So how do I stop them from opening every time I start up my Mac?

Thanks!

This is just a guess, but I bet it's tablet... "tablet" sounds like an earlier name for stickies. Call it the similarity between "tablet" and "notepad" for the same function in the Amiga OS as stickies.

The Norton entries might be messing something up also... hundreds of posts throughout all these forums how Norton messes up computers, doesn't support Apple, and should be removed.

Let us know if "tablet" was it.

Torshire, if you have selected to load Classic at startup try that Startup folder, if not just go to Finder/Find select your hard drive and type in Stickies. Then just delete all files except for the application Stickies, that’s all I have when I do a Find with Stickies typed in and the application stills works. There has to be an alias somewhere.

Hi again, I would do another Find and this time trash everything including the application. If you need to re-install the application then just use Pacifist to extract it from you install CD, the new install should have the default settings. Since trashing the com.apple.Stickies.plist did not bring joy.

I do remember resolving this problem for someone a long time ago and I can not remember the solution. However it was not a startup issue, but it did take some time just first find it and then to turn it off thru the application.

The only thing I found in the Apple Reference files is the possibility of the stickies showing up from another User account. I don not think this is your problem, but the solution they gave is "If you encounter this Symptom, try force quitting Stickies by pressing the Command-Option-Escape key combination". So you could try this first.
