iOS 7 iPhone 5 white blotch on top left corner of Screen

I have this too -- for FLixter, Yelp and Calculator app. At first I only noticed w Flixter and Yelp and figured it had something to do w those apps not updating for IOS 7 yet. But now w the calculator app, I wonder what's going on.

Add me to the list. Using an iPhone 5; upgraded from iOS 6.1.4 through iTunes on my MacBook Pro.

Completely wiped the phone and reinstalled everything from scratch without using any backups in order to avoid corrupt preferences/apps, etc. Still getting the white blotch when opening apps.

Wow, that is exactly where my Google Maps app was and as soon as I moved it that fixed it.

That is both insane that it worked and also nuts that you figured that out.

That's where my Google Maps app was located as well. Hard to believe the fix is this simple, but it seems to work.

Grateful to all of you for the incredible esoteric solution! Apple put in an order to send me a replacement iPhone. I've cancelled that now! Thanks

Google Maps has nothing to do with it. It's a hang up in animation. Spoke with apple for hours first week it released and spoke with Apple Developer management. They are working to fix. It is an iOS 7 issue no 3rd party app relation.

People and there *******, bullcrap fixes. Like they are investigators and developers.

Add my 64GB 5S on iOS 7.0.3 to the list of phones with the white graphical problem in the top left during app transition.

I did notice a graphical problem with the Voice Memos app (native to iOS 7) when you double-click the home button to close apps, and then look at the app icon when clicking back into the first screen. When I moved that app to the 3rd row, the white transition error went away. When I tried to move the Maps app, there was no change. When I moved the Voice Memos app back to the 2nd row, I was unable to get the problem to duplicate again. So I don't know which app move actually corrected the problem, but at least it's gone.

(Your results may vary, but I thought I'd chime in to join the discussion and add to the pool of problem device/OS problems).

I figured out how 2 ways to correct the issue momentarily. Really it's only a work around to remove the spot.

1. The shows only on apps in a folder and the folder is on the top 2 rows. To remove the spot from showing, move whatever folder holds the apps showing the spot to a lower row on your phone.

2. Turn on Reduce Motion and your apps will fade in and out and the spot is gone as well.

Hope this helps everyone. Spread the word because it is sad Apple developers can't fix the issue but a 13 yr old can write a jailbreak hack in his living room. PATHETIC.

Wow, I can't wait to try this. I've had this white blotch problem driving me nuts since the day 5S was released! I've been to the Apple store 3 times on this issue, and they are scratching their heads too. First I restored my phone from scratch - as a new phone. White blotch in the upper left corner, still there. Happens on certain apps (CNN, Downcast, Speed Test), and also when I unlock the phone. Apple finally replaced my phone with a new one a few days ago, and at first it was good, then yesterday it started happening again. And now that I think about it, it was right after I moved the Google Maps app to the second row and second column on the first page of apps! If this fix works, I'll be sane again!!

It will. I have not had the issue since moving the entire folder down to the bottom 2 rows. Every app that is doing it must be in a lower folder on your screen.

Yes, it worked. I'm floored that it was such a simple fix and the Genius Bar at my local Apple store had 3 cracks at this and couldn't figure it out. It was a collossal waste of my time. ugh
