Even I am facing same issue, no sounds for texts, video, lock screen and keypad tone but ring tones are working for calls.
By now there seems to be a lot of people with this problem.

I have the same problem too. The volume control is intermittently fuctioning with my iphone 4S but most of the time, the volume control disappers. But when I use an earphone, it would be pretty working.
This is really so bad. It seems that my phone right now is in mute mode. I don't hear any sound since yesterday.
still did not work on iOS 7.0.2..
I have the exact same problem and the so called genuis told me my phone was broken and that he never heard about this problem .... Sounds weird since you guys have the same thing... I tried everything .. Hard reboot playing with the plug ect ect.... Nothing works thanks for nothing genuis !!! Hhhmmm the word galaxy sounds great to me :))
We hope that this would be fixed in the next version update.
this is a wide spread bug. It comes and it goes. I have no idea what causes it and how to solve it
It is mainley Iphone 4S of a certain generation that is affected .
I tried all but there is no pattern. Sometimes plugging in an original power cors helps
sometimes going to youtube - or run a quicktime movie from inside an itenrnet page etc helps
I hope this gets solved soon otherwise back to release 6 . It is annoying .
Have you tried a reset?
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
Reset All Settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
You will not lose any data but it will reset the settings in your Settings app.
As a last resort, backup, connect to iTunes and restore (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).
This will redownload and clean install iOS 7.
After it finishes, go through the setup and restore from the backup when prompted.
Hi Axeman,
Thank you for your advice but still not working, It seems it is getting worse now. Previously, I can use my earphone
but now it is getting bug(very very low sound).
My current version is 7.0.2.Can I downgrade it to 7.0.0? So that I can restore back to clean 7.0.0 then update to
7.0.2. maybe this could help.
Maybe you have other option.
Apple does not support iOS downgrades at all.
Have you tried my last suggestion?
Backup, connect to iTunes and restore (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).

Yes I tried it but still nothing works. I hope that this will be fixed in the next week's new update.7.0.3. If not then, it is really really bad.
Try it again but set up as a new device instead of restoring from a backup and see if that resolves it.
You can always go back and restore from your backup if it does not help.
