iOS7 Compatibility Issues with Ford "Sync"

Since upgrading my iphone 4S with iOS7 it has lost compatability with my Ford Sync (2013 Kuga). It works via bluetooth but I can no longer browse playlists etc. Anyone else had this problem? Ideas? my Ford dealership say its an Apple iOS7 problem

I have a related issue with my car Nissan Rogue that came up after ios 7 upgrade.

I use Spotify and other music apps to listen to music when driving. My car has an ipod/usb aux input that I uses to play the music on my car's audio system. Until my ios7 upgrade, I was able to play music from my the music apps playlists to my car's audio system - which worked seamlessly

a. my car audio system would display the song info

b. transition from one song to the next one in the playlist was fine

c. i could control music - play/paus/rev/ffd with my car's steering mounted audio system control.

However, since the time I have upgraded to ios7 - I am facing a glitch. Everytime I play music from the app using the usb aux input - it just plays just one song that I select on my playlist on the app and the music transitions back to my iphones music playlist, instead of continuing to play music from the app. Also, when I use the car audio control to skip the song, insetad of selcting next song from the app it goes back to my iphone playlist.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Anyone facing similar issues.

I am having similar issues with my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and iPhone 4S running iOS 7. Sometimes I cannot cycle through my music and sometimes no music plays unless I force it from the phone directly. It used to just work automatically -- I would switch to Bluetooth Audio and the last playlist I had used with my phone would play.

Turning the phone off and on sometimes works. I even went so far as to reset all my settings. In the end, though, I run into the same problems. I am not looking to assign blame. I just want a solution!

I have the same issue as MadMikePDX I can't controll the music on my iphone 4S with IOS7 on my 2009 Ford Focus. I was going to try and get my sync updated but ford wants to charge my $50 to update it and i'm not even sure that will fix the issue. I have reset it many times and it fixes it for a bit but then goes back to the issue a few days later. Is restoring it a permenant fix? Does anyone know? I don't want to restore it if I don't have to.

Hi, my 2012 Ford Mustang had ios7 compatibility issues with my ford sync on my iphone 5, which is applink. Can't play Pandora, or Spotify, when I use the usb cable. Tried my parent's iphones, still didn't work. Tried my brother's android and it finally worked with the sync applink, which it streams wirelessly, same as a bluetooth audio. Bluetooth connectivity works fine. Does anyone know why it's not accepting the sync applink in the ios device? Is there any way to fix this issue? Thanks

I have the same or similar problem. I just bought a 2009 Ford Focus and it seems that when connecting my Iphone 5 to Sync via USB, the car takes control of itunes. When I try selecting music on my phone, the car changes the track to something different. Also when first plugging the phone, I can't play any music until I select a track using the car's radio buttons. Very annoying. My 2009 Ford F-150 never did this although I recently updated the phone's OS to 7.1.1 and have not tested this in the truck yet. Any fixes for this? I do not want to use the car's buttons. I want to control what's playing from my phone.

That worked for me too. I noticed after the reset that I had a great deal more storage as well. It cleaned up old gunk on my phone I guess. I went out to my 2011 Ford Escape, deleted all devices then re-added my phone. I was prompted to download phonebook this time. I tested it and it's working fine now.
