mp3 to midi for ringtones

Does anyone know of a good converter for mp3 to midi???
I want to be able to take songs from iTunes, put them in Garageband, cut them down to the part I want and then send them to my phone to use as ringtones. The only problem is that my phone will only allow you use midi files as ringtones. By the way I have a samsung SGH-D807.

G3, Mac OS X (10.3.9)

hello,

as an alternate solution you can look for midi files of the tunes you want on the net, there are tons of sites, some free some not. Or if you have a good ear or can find the score you can transcribe it to midi yourself.

http://www.mididb.com/
http://www.musicrobot.com/
http://www.midifarm.com/

etc.. etc.. all straight from google

Dude, I have the same phone and got it to work. You need to go to your bluetooth status (up top, right) and say browse device. Then go to your "my musics" [sic] folder and drop the mp3 in there.

Once you go to settings/sound settings/incoming call/ringtone/my music/ on your phone, you should be able to add it as a ringtone. The d807 supports mp3's under 192bit, no VBR.
