After upgrading to IOS7, I found that I am able to receive e-mail, but cannot send e-mails. I am using Time Warner Cable. I have confirmed that by signing in to TWC, I am able to send and receive e-mail. The rep at TWC said that someone from Apple gave him instruction on how to correct. I get the message below when trying to send e-mail:

CANNOT SEND MAIL

The connection to the outgoing server "mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com" failed.

Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar.

According to TWC, I have my setting correct.

Eventually I have got this fixed on a call with Apple. Removed my accounts. Reset network settings general>reset>reset network settings. Re-added my wifi connection. Re-added my accounts without messing with SMTP settings. Just took the standard from gmail etc. Hey presto.. all working fine. Apple seem to think after an upgrade the wifi settings can get a little confused!

I found a solution and its work for me , you may follow the below step -

for SMTP setting

HOST NAME - use your SMTP server provided by ur ISP /email/domain provider...

user name : use same user name you have used in incoming server.

password : use the same password you have used in incoming server.

authentication : select PASSWORD

hope it will work for you as well.... enjoy...

Thanks. This one worked - well, after I tried something.

You see, I don't see the SMTP setting unless I first turn it off (slide switch at the top of the dialog). Then I can see the Outgoing Mail Server information - host name, user name, password, etc. I had changed the password for the incoming server and was getting mail regularly. As I usually don't send mail from my iPad, I didn't realize that the few I did send had not gone out until tonight. Now, by turning off the Outgoing Servier switch, thus exposing the Outgoing Mail Servier info, I was able to change the password there as well.

Sometimes these Apple-fold are a little too clever for our own good.

Imagine, someone in a previous note suggested we try the link for emaileverywhere - and they get $4.99 for the fix. Guess they're raking it in for this bit of sillyness. But I refuse to pay their tax for something that should and was simple to fix, so your note did it for me.

Thanks.

SERIOUSLY?

They (emaileverywhere in the UK) want and get $4.99 from each one of the millions of us who had this problem - and it's really a simple fix - because Apple doesn't expose the Outgoing SMTP servier dialog box unless you slide the switch to off.

When you change your email password using the IOS7 Settings, you must change both the incoming and outgoing password, even though they are the same. But the dialogs in IOS7 don't guide you through those steps, so you think by changing the one for incoming, it's also changed for outgoing. It is not. And it's difficult to find out why. Here are some screen shots that will help (you can click on the image to see a larger version of it):
