iWork syncing not working since iOS 7 install

Hi,

Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 and iPad mini, I've noticed that my iWork documents have stopped syncing across devices (those 2 mentioned and my MacBook Pro). This applies to all three iWork applications. On iOS, documents say they are updating, and I get the blue progress bar within folders and on specific documents, but the update never goes through. On the Mac and in the iWork application's iCloud folder, updated or new documents just say "Waiting" with a little cloud picture-- this is what I usually get when I don't have internet access.

Furthermore, I cannot access my documents from the iCloud.com website. If I log in and attempt to navigate to one of the iWork for iCloud programs, I just get sent back out to the icloud.com main menu screen and am asked to reenter my login info. I CAN access all other features of icloud.com without issue (Mail, Notes, Reminders, etc.), so this isn't a total iCloud problem.

I have tried restarting all devices. I have also tried turning off iCloud document syncing on both iOS devices, letting the items get deleted, and then turning it back on... all to no avail (haven't tried this on my Mac because I don't want to lose all the docs I have created or updated since the problem started).Accor

According to Apple's System Status page, Documents in iCloud is running without issue. Is anyone else having this problem? And are there any other potential solutions that I haven't thought of?

Thanks!

Kyle

On your Mac, copy the "Mobile Documents" folder to the desktop. Use Sugarsync, Pogoplug or some other cloud service with iPhone and iPad apps to sync this folder with your other devices. You may be able to copy this folder to DropBox for example. This is what I did - and still do - to keep an iCloud alternative.

Hello,

Same or very similar issue here. I have the New iPad and an iPhone 5.

I use the Numbers app on my iPad every Monday to update each week's growth on my social networks.

After updating to iOS7, I tried it last Monday and although the spreadsheet tells me the correct time of my last input (last monday), the little fold with the arrow on the upper right corner remains there forever.

Normally, that fold and arrow pointing upwards happens just before I get the blue syncing bar.

And since the syncing doesn't start, the document is only updated on my iPad, not iCloud or my other devices.

Also, when I try to enter www.icloud.com and then Numbers, I get a constant loop of having to enter my username and password again.

Hope Apple fixes my problem soon, as I've been reading about others.

That's exactly my problem.

I used to enjoy working with Numbers and Pages with iCloud integration. Now, I feel like a fool!

I trusted and let Apple manage my documents in the cloud, which should just work as mentioned many times in their marketing. No, it doesn't work and there's no one to help!

I had enabled/disabled iCloud on my iDevices, installed/uninstalled the apps, and even reinstalled the entire OS from scratch. Still, it is not working and is a pain in the ***!

Called Apple support in the UK. The lady on the phone was unaware of the problem and can't offer any practical help.

Apple, I paid for my iPhone, my iCloud storage, my Numbers and Pages apps. Now that they are not working and I am unable to access documents that are important to me. Even the online version of Numbers and Pages hosted at icloud.com are not working. iCloud is supposed to make things easier but they are not when problems arise!

FYI to everyone still having this problem:

The Apple iWork team just sent me the email pasted below. So, at the least, they are aware of the problem. Hopefully it will be cleared up for everyone soon!

Hello there,

We have heard about your issue from the discussion thread below:

Please note that Apple is aware of the issue and we are investigating this at the moment.

Thank you,

Same here. Numbers has been great (as have been really neat third-party apps that depend on iCloud documents and data sync). Now my life is disrupted on my many Apple devices and I feel like a fool! A lot of developers must be feeling that way too. Days and days to fix this. Vague, unhelpful emails. And the incredible cheek to report all aspects of iCloud http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ status as normal. "Wednesday, September 25, 2013: There are no reported issues at this time." Yeah, sure! This is unacceptable, Apple.

I'll add my voice too. Same problem, stuck on "waiting".

I've removed my documents (mainly Keynote) from the iCloud folder to the desktop, I've tried deleting the folders in the Library and then moving a doc back to iCloud to see if that kickstarts it, but to no avail. Plus, the iCloud menu on my iPad3 still shows all the documents still there, but of course they don't open and it sits there "Updating 1 item".

I chatted with a senior support guy at Apple today after finding some log file messages that seemed to indicate that my iCloud had been locked based on some discussions in support threads here, thinking maybe the ia writer (and other third party app) syncing issues were a global iCloud syncing issue.

The log messages (in ~/Library/Logs/Ubiquity/<username>/) looked like this:

==> ubiquity-digest.log <==

[13/09/26 11:17:33.362] p2p transfer is enabled

[13/09/26 11:17:34.102] there was a http error 503 while talking to iCloud reason: ubiquity account locked

==> ubiquity.log <==

[ERROR] 33d6930a52 [13/09/26 11:18:28.245] {B4528992} 300.com.apple.ubiquity.SRConnection.callouts.0x7f95f1c4ca40 service_get_requested_path_status:344 can't find item for path '/Users/alan/Library/Mobile Documents/74ZAFF46HB~jp~informationarchitects~Writer/Documents/Untitled 2.md'

(This last message was creating a new iA|Writer document)

Anyway, this is apparently a known, being worked on issue by Apple, with no ETA for a fix (maybe Monday he figured, along with everything else they are doing it's hard to tell). It sounds like it's maybe one or a few of the iCloud servers having the issue and locking out a few accounts somehow (I assume for syncing any or all third party app data, as contacts/calendar sync seems to work fine).

Hopefully this info will help you guys out. Basically they know about it and are working to fix it. Wait and be patient sounds like all we can really do.

Chiming in - discovered today when trying to access Notes taken on iPad during an afternoon meeting. Not on my MBP Retina (10.8.5). Calendar sync not working either.

However, Notes did work Wednesday - and I upgraded on Tuesday.

The iPad has been upgraded to iOS7.

My iPhone has NOT been upgraded. I just tested Notes & Calendar (Thursday) with the iPhone and both synced.
