iPhone 5 with iOS 7 randomly shuts off

Are any of you aware of iOS 7 randomly shutting down iPhones? Ever since I upgraded 2 day ago it has shut down at least 3 times. The battery was at about 18%, 20%, and 36% when it shut down. I don't believe it’s a bug with the battery percentage because it started back up as soon as hit the power button. Also, it is not due to overheating or anything else wrong with the environment. Nothing in the environment has changed except that I updated to iOS 7. Let me know if this occurs to anyone else and if there are any solutions pending?

I doubt that Apple is really working on the battery problem. As far as I know the random crashing issue is another kind of problem that occurs with ios 7 and only affects the ui. When it is crashing it is automatically restarted. This is not a complete reboot of the phone. (Got these crashes on my ipad air occasionally).

So I fear that Apple is regarding this problem with the next update and not the battery issues. After all they never officially acknowledged the battery problems. Maybe they know they f***ed up with something and they want to solve it by selling a lot of shiny new batteries ;-) (just guessing)

Is anyone's phone screen turning blue when it shuts down? This is my 2nd 5s in 3 days. Went home connected to wifi to down load from iCloud, started down load fine but after about 6 hours it screen would turn blue and phone turns off. If I turn wifi off the doesn't do it. Even does it out in town on other wifi networks. Have new IPad with iOS 7.0.4 and it has no problems on the same networks. Apple store geeks don't know what is causing the phone to do it. Had a 4s before with iOS 7.0.4 and it had no problems. Going back to Apple store today to get a new phone. Think I'm not going to update to new iOS and see if that fixes it till Apple comes through with a solution.

I currently use 3 different iPads. However, my ipad 4 that I rely on and use to the end of its battery each day, experiences the crash almost daily. Coupled with some touch lag and keyboard delay, and no sound when mirroring videos to my Apple TV, I'm extremely disappointed. If it's not fixed soon, I may look for alternatives; it's pretty unacceptable to go from a solid system that never crashed or had any slight delay to this. Work harder on this Apple.

A co-worker's phone recently started randomly shutting down when the battery was below 35%. He put iOS 7.1 beta 5 on this morning and a few hours later the phone shut down at 50% battery. The last two times it happened he was receiving a text while outside (around 32F). He's not hopeful that 7.1 will resolve this.

Add me to the list, too. iPhone 4 (yeah, I know, old phone), but never had problems until iOS 7. Now I have this happen at random times. And on mine, it cycles between the Apple screen and the black screen, continuously. The only solution seems to be the restoring to factory settings and starting over, which usually lasts for a couple of weeks. This last time though it lasted less than a day. Very annoying.

I have this issue for about 2 months, I have tried many workarounds and I still don't see any pattern in behaviour of shut downs nor workaround.

Symptoms:

- iPhone 5 (A1429) worked flawlessly with iOS 6 for about 1 year. With iOS 7.0 it was still good, I have not experiemced any problems.

- Random shut off started with iOS 7.0.2 (I have skipped iOS 7.0.1)

- iPhone shuts off randomly about four times per day. I get black screen, no backlight, no response form power or home button. Sometimes isn't even possible to restart it (holding Power+Home). I need to repeat process until I get lucky.

- When I put iPhone to sleep (power button), I have only 70% that it wakes up again. When I prevent it from sleep, it doen't shuts off.

- I have experienced issues with wifi (all time not related to IOS version). I need strong signal to wifi working properly. Maybe there are some issues with series of chip somehow related to this.

What does not helped:

- iOS 7.0.5

- iOS 7.1 beta 4

- iOS 7.1 beta 5

- Reset device to factory settings (clean update through DFU mode). Even with complete clean system with factory settings and iCloud turned off I experienced shut-offs.

- Turning off iCloud, app background sync, reduce motion...

- Reset network settings

- Restore from iTunes backup

- Charging battery. Problem occurs in any charge state even during recharging.

No need to say how frustrated I am. I need to carry two phones and tell everyone, that my iPhone doesn't sometimes work...

I'm sorry to say it's the battery folks. I tried all the things everyone has stated, reseting, restoring, etc.....The only thing that worked was replacing the battery. I bought a replacement battery kit from iFixit more than a month ago and it has worked perfectly ever since then. And I did not do a factory restore when putting in the new battery. I just swapped it out. Battery works great now. It ***** that it failed after 13 months.

Cont me in. Two iPhone 4s on iOS 7 both randomly shuting down.

I'm sorry, but I have to say that iOS 7 introduced so many embaracing bugs... Sometimes I can't even log in with my Passcode, as the keyboard isn't properly shown/roated in the wrong time slot or something... Airplay randomly not working. I keep mistyping with the stupid Shift-button... Whatever changed - It's worse. Not to say about the NSA-worries.

A nightmare... but pointing the finger to unupdated Androids. I would gladly retun to iOS 6, if I could...

I read on here over a month ago that Apple were looking into a fix...surprise surprise No Fix!!

DONT BUY A NEW BATTERY EVERYONE THAT DOESNT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, TRUST ME!

I was told by Apple to buy a new battery but even after I did my iphone5 has continued to randomly shut down. I cant wait for my phone contract to be up I'll be ditching Apple products all together!

And again....

iPhone 5 7.0.5

Took three photos and a 30 second long video on a day out.

Phone shut down and wouldn't start up for at least an hour.

So no photos or Comms...

When it did finally start it stated that the battery percentage was 75%?????!

I had also shut down wifi/Bluetooth and location services to preserve the battery before hand.

Bloody unreliable tech now...can't be trusted anymore.

I'm going to revert to carrying a separate digital camera and keep the phone off until I need to make a call. I've printed off my important telephone numbers and keep some change on me incase I need to use a pay phone.

Welcome to 1994!!!

There are still some pay phones about....or are they public toilets? It's hard to tell them apart these days.

Oh,

I've turned the auto-brightness off too, so the extremely high tech phone is even more doing an impression of some 1990s phone....

Ah, oh for the days of a Nokia 3210...

Apple? Why did you mess up a great idea...?
