iOS 7 app store update list does not clear after updates have been installed
iPhone 5, iOS 7
Maybe because ios 7 is so different and hoses existing apps. I noticed weeks before ios 7 release, a flurry of
apps were updated. Maybe the list is used by the updater because
every app needed an update.
I'm glad I found this thread.
I have two issues:
1. The annoying little badge that stays resident after updating.
2. The list that shows all of the recently updated apps with an option to "Open."
I don't use auto-update. Why? Because Apple screws up little stuff like this so much that I don't trust it not to screw up things.
Quality control at Apple really has been disappointing lately...
I wish they put as much care into fixing these issues as they do policing their forums.
That's not true because I have updated apps listed back to September 28. Now if its only for a month I can deal, but I agree its so small, yet soooo annoying.
I did it at exactly 2 weeks and it worked!
It's been over a week since I did many of my updates, so that is not accurate.
My oldest one is two weeks today, so I hope my list works like yours did.
This is just a stupid oversight by Apple, but it is not a good indicator of quality.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
Sorry but this doesn't work as I have tried over and over
This is so stupid.... They only need a "clear list" button or some other option... I get updates to apps everyday... This list gets very annoying... Yup, I end up going to my settings an just spin the wheel to change the date to something in the future... I don't look how far ahead I go... I just give the date a good spin....then I turn "set automatically" on for a second an then back off.... Takes about fifteen seconds to do all this to clear that stupid list but it works.... This is so annoying an so stupid...
But the problem is that the list doesn't contain ALL of the updated apps. I just updated 8 apps and 3 remained on the list as OPEN. I've had one updated app for about a week and now two more. This has to be a bug that Apple needs to address I think. It's not a consistant problem.
"Open" means you can tap on the button and open the app.

Yes, I understand the "Open" - it means the app has been updated and you can open it. But how do you clear that list? I've had items that were updated that still showed up in the Update section with the "Open" option up to a week after updating.
Double click on the Home button, swipe left/right to find the App Store app, swipe up to close it.
You might also try a reset as mentioned earlier in the thread. Or wait it out. They will drop of the list in another week or so.
Hi all, this has been annoying me for a while too. However I have found a very easy fix! Just go to settings, General, date and time. Turn set automatically off and then set your date forward about 6 months time or so. Then reopen app updates and all the updated ones should have cleared. You can then go back into date and time settings and turn it back to set automatically.
Hope this works for you all.
