Why would you do that? You don't want to add Digital Rights Management (DRM) to music that you already have that does not have DRM.
What is your real question? What is it that you want to do wiht the music? Tell us your plan.
I'm trying to use these songs to dee jay at a party. Just the songs I bought before 2009.
Who did you buy them from? What format are they in? What type of device are your using to DJ, Mac, PC, iPad? That is what we need to know in detail to offer solutions. You're being too vague.

I assume you are trying to remove DRM, not add it.
There are two ways.
One is to use iTunes Match (cost $25). Go to this support article:

Note the section on "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?"
The other is to use iTunes to burn the songs to an audio CD. The audio CD can be used like a normal audio CD.
