Blurry camera and pics after ios7!! Help!

Prior to installing 7, I had no issues with it on, but I was questioning the sharps of my photos after the update, and the flash also wasn't finding focus properly. I removed a transparent protective film covering the back of the phone (incl lens area) and all working fine now. Perhaps auto focus/flash focus mechanics are different with 7. Like I said, it was a non issue with the protective film cover on before installing the update so it didn't occur to me to take it off.

I do not have a transparent piece of plastic on my iphone5.

Got exactly the same issue. iPhone 5 was working well until last week (with ios 7.0). Even used it on a company-trip and have done great pics. tried to use the cam today after having updated to ios 7.0.2 this weekend.

have reset iPhone to factory settings, and done NO restore, but no change. Images stay blurry. is defnetly an autofocus issue. Have then tried to install a 3rd party app (Camera+) to see if it would solve the problem, but unfortunantely it doesn't. Problem still persists. Will have to bring the iPhone to an Apple Store and see if it gets replaced under warranty, although it just expired 4 days ago!

I've tried several troubleshooting suggestions that I've read online, but nothing has worked. I guess I will have to take my phone back to where I purchased it this year. Time consuming, frustrating, and disappointing.

Have an iPhone5 and from the 1st photo shot after update to IOS7 I am having the same issues as reported above. Here are my findings so far:

* Rear camera will focus only when shooting close ups. Lets say when up to 5-8 inches from target of focus

* If not shooting close ups, the rear camera has simply turn into something 100% useless. Holding steady, tapping, holding focus to lock/unlock the AF, using vol.buttons - nothing helps - the camera is not able to find something to focus on and is completly blurry

* Front camera - actually works

Seems incredible that Apple is able to actually screw up a major software release in such a way. Hanging this one up on Apple´s wall of shame alongside Maps, or actually - a bit higher, as at least for maps you could use other 3rdparty apps as replacements.

Has anyone tried using the camera in 3rd party apps that allow taking of photos, such as Instagram, Quickpix, ProCamera or Camera+? If the camera works in 3rd party apps we can eliminate the hardware as being the issue and blame the software.

Try stabilizing your phone with a camera stand and see if the pictures are still blurry.

Have taken Pics on the iphone 5 for a year now, but since the last Update to 7.0.2 the Autofocus is misaligned. It focus about 10-20 cm before the object!

Have set phone to Factory Settings but not better. Then configured Apple ID and installed Camera+, but problem persists.

Seems that I have to replace the phone. What's great is that this happens only after 4 days since warranty expired. Mean thoughts could assume it was programmed into it...

You know they changed the camera button to take nonstop picture instead of focusing when you hold it, right?

I have the same problem. It looks like it just doesn't focus on the right portion of the image. On my iPhone 5 it would autofocus just fine, and only require me to tap to focus in some instances. Now it never focuses on the right part of the image by itself, I always have to tap the portion I want it to focus on. Very annoying!

That's what happens to me too. If you tap on the bookshelf, will the focus come out correct? For me if I tap on some object a few times it will focus correctly.

Have any of you tried taking pics without the case on the phone? There was a thread earlier where some people's cases were causing the camera not to focus, even though you couldn't tell by looking at the hole in the case.

I have tried everything to make it focus. No luck

This is defentily a software bug.
