How can I import video from a VCD or AVSEQ01.DAT file into an event in FCPX?

Hello to all. I have with me some footage which is precious to me. The original footage was captured on a VCR from a live TV show. I had got the Video cassette converted into a VCD and of it I have copied a AVSEQ01.DAT file on my windows computer. Now, I am minded to 'edit' this VCD...only cutting out unnecessary bits and keeping what is precious to me. I know that if I can import it into an FCPX event, I would be able to do the necessary edits on the timeline. Any suggestions?

Hello and sorry to all, especially to Karsten and to Apple as well.

I had in error clicked upon 'this helped me' on my earlier post whereas I intended to give that honor to Karsten.

If there is any way by which this unintended error can be rectified, I will be most happy.
