You don't. Aside from Inverting the colors for the visually impaired That's never been a feature of the OS

iOS has been around since 2007, and changing the theme has never been a feature. Why are you acting so surprised?
I'm surprised. They have never used such bold colors. It would be nice if they didn't glow in the dark. Honestly, the green keeps me from enjoying a brilliant design. I love the phone and new features, but I find my new toy hard to look at.
Tell Apple, www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.
Done that. However I think more public discussion is better, and more likely to get a response. I thought the iphone 5S was beautiful and well made before I turned it on; the fingerprint scanner works like a charm; but now that I've seen the interface I've gone back to my iPhone 4, dodgy microphone and all. If the interface isn't fixed in a fortnight I'm putting it on eBay!

Maybe from your fellow users but not from Apple.
Respectfully disagree. Social networking between fellow users allows us to see how many people have the same views, and I feel makes people more likely to post on the feedback link. If you think apple PR doesn't pay any attention to the public forums I strongly suspect you are mistaken
Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping the social aspect would be more rewarding than just complaining to Apple. I really do like the changes, but I think Apple needs to think about using such bold colors for the general public. It is not just different, it is downright obnoxious. Everything else looks good, but normal people colors would have made this the perfect design.
This really isn't a social site. This is a public forum yes, but it is designed as a user to user technical support forum, not a blog style area for people to post their opinions. The more of these opinion posts that clutter the forum, the more difficult it is for users with technical issues to receive assistance as their posts get pushed down on the list.
For Apple to hear your concerns, post as suggested on the feedback page, if you want to voice your opinion and garner public support for your causes, then do that through social media. I am not belittling your opinion, as everyone is entitled to one, it just makes it more difficult for the forum to work as it is designed.
Having read the forum rules it seems pretty clear this is a technical forum so apologies for hijacking it. However there are quite a lot of irate people, and there isn't a public forum for apple users to give feedback that I'm aware of. Thanks for your courteous response Chris, I'll stop bombarding the forums as I'm less grumpy now. More depressed. I have to go out and investigate Android now, and I've never had the slightest inclination to do that before.
Hi Butler,
I know what you are saying, but I found that just by lowering the brightness a bit, things on my iPhone are looking normal again. I also changed my wallpaper to a starry night scene, that has a large moon in the middle which helps to not make things look too dark....
But just tuning down the brightness made a world of difference for me.
Cheers,
GB
The colour scheme doesn't bother me but then I have red/green colour blindess. It looks good to me.
I find also that the interface of ios 7 is way too bright for me. It just kills my eyes as i often work in the dark (i am a digital painter, with Procreate on ipad).
What i would need is to be able to use a dark theme too. It would be similar to what you get when you use the invert colors function in accessibility.
The absence of interface customization is really a huge lack in ios. I don't even get why it is not possible to do so natively. People just love to customize their phones..

It is a running theme of technology companies to not allow users to customise the core products, just look at the new Microsoft outlook (if you can see it), it is almost completely grey compared to 2010 where you had visually easy to see folder panel.
Don't think for a second there isn't a commercial reason why apple and MS don't let you customise, apple must have come up with 50 different designs and at least 2-3 going very close to the final cut. I don't work in marketing directly but I would bet it is all to do with their ability to condition you into buying their new product when it comes out, keeping all their apple soldiers (customers) inline. Maybe they are scared if you customise you will eventually look for the perfect product and find it is a android not an apple.....they are probably right and will be very successful with their rubbish new colour scheme.
