Does anyone dislike IOS 7 as much as I do?

You shouldn't. This update *****! I want the look and feel and the drop shadows and 3D of iOS6 back. Plus the calendar and calculator, settings icon (gears do not work inside of gears, the new icon makes no sense and now doesn't match my older devices or my mac), and notes font back to what it was, and the ability to get into ipod without digging into the folder where it lives. I was able to do this before but now cannot. The 3D and drop shadows help with old tired eyes like mine or anyone else over 40.

Except, of course, they weren't "actual buttons". Personally, I'm glad to see the end of skeumorphism. I'm hoping to see the same sort of changes in Mavericks.

It seems to me that businesses like Apple and Microsoft care very little about the opinion of there customers. It seems that someone in their organization has an ideal and that is what they are going to do despite the reactions they get from their customers examples are IOs7 and Windows 8.

It also seems to be the only way to get them to listen is to hit them in the pocket book. I think the only way they will respond positive to the dislike of IOs7 is if everyone that hates it refuses to use it move to a droid or some other smart phone until Apple releases the IOs8 as a solution to the IOs7 issue. Now * would have to fix all the complaints about 7, obviously. But that the only way people can seem to get a reaction from big business is to let them know that they really are sick of something by not using their product. Companies like Apple and Microsoft will use the line that the public just needs to embrace the change because its progress. I say that we as the public liked the I phone for reasons that they have lost track of since the Death of Steve Jobs and that He never would have done an OS this bad. And despite Progress we like what we like and this is not it. Go back to what we like Apple or risk losing your customer base. Like in the 80’s.

Thanks for all these posts. I thought I was an anomoly! I updated to 7.04, the latest from the 6 and I wish hadn't. My ipad (4th generation) seems totally useless. It freezes now, and the apps are not attractive in terms of what I think they call, "streamlined"? I miss the Notepad app the way it was in 6 and, yes, the battery discharges much faster. I feel like selling the IPad and going back to an Android. I have been an Apple person for over 20 years and always have liked the product, not the company. They are not really responsive to consumers. I certainly wish they would hear us. I have read about certain fixes, but I think it is Apple's responsibility to take care of this. I would like to be able to go back to IOS 6 and don't know how to do it. Thanks, folks, for having this forum. It is very helpful to hear that others are having the same challenges.

Indeed, the 4 finger swipe up now makes no sense. The 5 finger pinch to close an app has gone from perfectly executed (ie. as your fingers met the app closed) to a clunky travesty of its former self - fingers meet, app not completely closed, app closes with an ugly clunk when fingers are removed from screen. Amateurish. IOS7 defenders may say these issues are mere aesthetics but isn't that what has always made Apple so fab - attention to small aesthetic details as well as functionality? PS. Enjoying my ipad 4 with IOS6!

Fortunately I couldn't update my iPad having an 'obsolete' iPad1 which is no longer supported, but I've recently bought an iPhone 5s and have got to live with iOS7, which as you say seems so unintuitive and a betrayal of the perfection that Steve Jobs left as his legacy. it's clinical, stripped down and lacking in humanity.

I live in the UK and one of the only saving graces in terms of functionality was the warm and human sounding Siri voice, which was great for giving turn by turn directions. iOS 7.1 was supposed to give a 'more natural sounding' voice but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the original one and this upgrade has replaced the excellent natural voice with a throwback to those early stabs at text to voice translation - it's awful!

I dislike it enough that I contemplated leaving all of my iOS devices (3 iphones 5(2),4(1) 2 iPad (3)) and finding something else. This force of a download and the endless asking to update. I am pretty upset. Really this is the first time I have really hated an OS. I work in IT security and the field for 15 years. I only know 2 out of more than 100 that like iOS 7. I have posted and send emails to support and feedback and I have not recieved one reply back. Sad to see Apple go this way, head in the sand. Change just to change is a bad idea. Please bring back iOS6 or let me upgrade my devices back to the latest patches that are for iOS6. I will not buy a new apple iOS devices untell this will happen.

Totally agree. I REFUSE to upgrade to Maverick after the IOS 7.0 piece of junk. I too have written Apple and posted my displeasure with their dumbdowning of their, once industry lead graphic interface. Like Microsoft, Apple has decided, unilatterally, what it's customer base wants and the under the guise of an update, tken over and upgraded to a NEW, less desireable, IOS. But, in Apple's defense, they are providing it FREE. If this this what free buys me I say NO thanks. Most of my friends, those in their mid 20's and beyond, feel pretty much as I do, but have succumbed to do little or nothing - a trajedy!

If you want to speak to Apple directly, you are always free to call them. Use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to do so. However, to give feedback someplace where Apple specifically state that they will not answer and then get peeved that they don't is just silly.

I hate change but know that like every thing it is inevitable, though it makes my retired senior days full of things to gripe about. More so when there are software programmers and developers involved, they always are tweaking some thing. Not a week goes by when some web site I use has a change. Most of this is annoying, and at my first touch IOS7 was on a few things. But like every thing I give it a chance. And so many good changes. And with my constant use of my IPAD and Iphone I find that much I have been disgruntled on now is actually good.

The complaint that other have listed on vertigo and nausea on the moving icons I the most baffling to me, On must really be zooming in and out a hundred times a second for that one.

Greating yspice. I'm a bit of a curmudgeon myself. But I also like the new version of iOS. I suspect that quite a bit of the noise around the new OS will die down within a few weeks and is generally a matter of resistance to change as you describe. Feature wise, while it works well, there is some room for improvement, and as in the past, I beleive Apple will address some those as well. Well see how that turns out.

I'm with you on the nausea bit. Don't get it either, and frankly I'm a little skeptical about all the reports of this. I guess we'll see how this plays out.

My battery life doesn't last as long since I updated to the ios7. Some of my apps don't work anymore and iTunes wouldn't open and when I contacting someone about it they put the blame on my phone but all these issues were working fine irbil I updated my phone do I know my phone is not the problem plus I just bought it 2 months ago.

And what troubleshooting steps have you taken? Have you tried visiting an apple store to get assistance at a genius bar?

I agree with you totally and I've had more problems after this update that I wished I hadn't updated it. The thing I hate the most is charging it more frequently plus my apps aren't working properly like before and the feedback I did get didn't solve the issue. I did get one email from apple support that there will be bugs that need to be fixed and that another update will be coming out to fix the problems from the iOS 7 update. So who knows
