I was also missing a few apps after updating my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.
I wanted to uninstall one of them but couldn't find other than to use the search box.
Tried your solution and found the app, but now even more apps are gone, not really gone but they don't show up on the screen.
Found a possible explanation for this, I've got 305 apps installed and my iPhone 4S has only got room for maximum 244 apps if they aren't grouped (4*4*15 pages + 4 at the bottom).
The maximum number (not grouped) for iPhone 5 for example would be (4*5*15 pages + 4 at the bottom = 304 apps).
However, three of the built in apps, (contacts, calculator and compass), are grouped as standard, that means max limit (not grouped except them three) for iPhone 5 goes up to 302 as standard?
I still got more apps then what would be the alarm limit for using the "reset home screen", if there is a alarm limit? I don't know.
Hoping for someone to come up with a quick fix for this issue so that I don't have to uninstall 61 apps and start putting them into groups and then download the deleted ones again, because that I don't consider a solution,
Sorry for using so much text but it just wanted to express my problem without being misunderstood.
