Deleting photos
I want to delete the 1,000 photos on my iPhone that are in my camera roll and the same 1,000 in the photo stream. If I do this, will they remain in iPhoto on my MacBook? (I hope so).

If, and only if, you have imported them into iPhoto for the Mac
If they are in events in iPhoto for the Mac then they have been imported - if they are only in PhotoStream then when they are deleted from PS they are gone
Only you know what you have done and what perferences you have set

Thanks. They are showing in iPhotos in "events" called "May 2012 Photo Stream" etc. So I guess I will move them to "regular events" first.
The event named XXX YYYY Photo Stream is an event and they have been imported - that indicates that you have the auto import preference on -- it is fine but not necessary to move them to another event

That event will accept additonal new photos from the camera within that particular month. Just leave it as is till the next PS Event gets created.

Thanks to all.
