Hey,
Im going to wipe my computer and jump from 32bit Win XP to 64bit Win 7 and I'd like to know a way to preserve and reload my current itunes (play counts, playlists, etc). Anyone have any clue of the steps?

Backup the library with this user tip. Deauthorize the computer before you wipe it. Use the same tool to restore the library into the new system, then install iTunes.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make sure moving things doesn't break the library. See make a split library portable for details.

so anxiously waiting for a response i went back thru convo and sure as shiit you had responded. shift starting to an itl from the night of the issue brought EVERYTHING back. In case i mess up again, what should be backed up? all xmls and itls? Thanks so much
I suspect TocuhCopy uses the TrackID matching method, but I haven't tested it. Have you tried the SyncStats script, it ought to work.
