It's probably because the charger you are using is not a certified apple product. Certified Lightning chargers contain a small chip to tell your device it's a genuine apple product or indeed if it is a cheap copy. In a recent update Apple have disabled cheap & cheerful aftermarket lightning chargers. Buy a new licensed apple charger & all will be back to normal. I Hope I helped, I had loads of cheap lightnings & I have been really happy with them for ages, but this week they all stopped working. I bought a new certified Apple charger and all is well, only problem is price, cheap charger = 5 quid real lightning 15 quid :-(

You cannot upgrate to IOS7 without updating first your iTune version.

So nobody can miss it.

I have no problem with my iPhone 5 so far, but my iPhone 4S batteries are not charging since updating to IOS7, neither with original wall charger nor with computer USB. Even if it is the only connected USB of the iMac or Macbook... I brought it to an Apple shop, now waiting for diagnostic, but they told me that it is a hardware problem: charging module has over heated and is burned out.

Did your iPhone 5 battery run out yet? Is it stuck on low battery mode & won't charge? I had a similar issue with my 4S & I went to Apple's genius bar. They don't take in walk-ins I believe. Funny thing is the guy that was helping me out told me my phone had a 2001 error & was a hardware issue. My warranty was up so the only option was the replace my phone. Later on I took it to get it checked up by a well iPhone expert of some sort who charges to fix phone problems. Amazingly, he fixed my problem.

Cherry on top, a replacement battery fixed my issue. Battery = 50.00 something, new phone = 500.00 something. Total bs. They wanted me to replace my phone for only a battery issue. My phone's charging now again and has been working for 2 days already since I replaced the battery.

You've been lucky InfinitiXIII,

I had the same problem. My son is making minor repairs of iPhone. He had a iPhone 4S battery in stock. I tried it, and the phone worked, I could restore it. The battery had 60% load. But still it did not charge and after a few hours I was at the same point again, phone was dead showing error 2001 when trying a restore. So I got it to an Apple official reseller for diagnostic, that could take up to 3 weeks. Still 2 to go...

So the problem is that in my Iphone 4 the battery usage clock has gone blank and it won't recognize the charger cable. Somewhere the message to the charger is that the phone battery is full. Have tried software resets and restorations to no effect. the good news is that if you plug it into a charger and power off the phone it doesnt connect with software so it charges in any case. Means no phone while charging. Bad but beter than nothing. It's bound to be a software glitch as couldn't have happened to so many old phones. Maybe Apple is dealing with it and maybe they want us to upgrade.

Yes, I got someone to replace the battery and my iPhone is working fine now, still functioning after all this time haha. I don't know for sure if replacing the battery will solve everyone's issue but its definitely a cheaper alternative than buying a new phone/ipad/etc (that's if changing the battery solves the issue) I attempted a restore on my iPhone as well but sadly it did not solve the issue. Only when I switched the battery did my phone finally started to charge again.

I'm having the same problem (as are thousands, if not millions of other Apple customers) and it couldn't have hit me at a worse time as my fiance' was just laid off and I've been too sick to get back to work. So we're too broke to buy the battery or anything like $50 bucks for Apple's bogus mistake. You can't tell me they didn't test out all these phone with the iPhone ios 7 update before they released it. If they didn't, they were being foolish and irresponsible. I have the updated iTunes (just in case). I blew out the ports to make sure lint or dust was not there. I held the home and off switch to reset and have plugged it into the original charger. If I move it, it stops charging though and trying to get it to start again is nearly impossible At this moment, I JUST got it to start charging so I'm hoping and praying that I can find the proper position to leave it in to charge again. I'm afraid it might be semi-fried as many other people's have been. I believe Apple should take responsibility for this issue and give us a free fix as we have paid hundreds and thousands for their products. Just because it is out of warranty doesn't mean they lack responsibility when telling us we must upgrade our product and then their upgrade breaks our devices. I'm very furious and feel we should all take a class action. I don't even care for the way the new ios looks or acts, honestly. Anyway, just thought I would share. If it stops charging, I WILL post again and Apple WILL be hearing from me as this isn't their first product to take a crap on me and I am a former employee.
