Certain applications have to be reinstalled fresh and not from a restore for push notifications to work correctly. You should go to Settings, General, Usage-Find the app and delete. This includes the data associated with the app.

This tip worked fine for me for facebook, kik messenger, dropbox and so on over 200 apps installed and no problem what so ever. I did what Kristover proposed but with an additional first step.

I signed out from find my Iphone first

Go to settings > Icloud > Switch of "Find my Iphone" by signing out

Then

Deactivate itunes account: Go to settings > itunes store & appstore > sign out from the account 'Apple ID: xxxxxxxxxxxx' >

Restart the iphone/ipad

Reactivate itunes account: Go to settings > itunes store & appstore > login

Reactivate Find my Iphone

Go to settings > Icloud > Switch on "Find my Iphone"

It took a couple of trys but this seems to have worked for me too... Thanks!

In the attempt which worked, I also followed Demag's advice with another (possibly significant) step... My process was as follows (iPhone 4 on iOS7):

  • Double-click Home button and close ALL applications by sweeping finger up on each.
  • Go to Settings > iCloud

    Switch off Find my iPhone

  • Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store

Touch Apple ID: xxxxxxxxxxx and select Sign Out

  • Hold down Power button and turn iPhone off

Alternatively, hold the Power button and Home button for several seconds to do a hard reset

  • Press Power button to turn iPhone back on
  • Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store

Enter Apple ID credentials and sign back in

  • Go to Settings > iCloud

    Switch on Find my iPhone

  • Open apps which previously had the problem to test

Hope this helps!

Triplestones.. you don't even know how relieved I am right now !! Phew.. this was a big one to crack.

I have got a iPhone 4 running on iOS 7.0.4 and followed all your same commands -

This fixed my iMessage issue too - a big big relieft. I wasn't getting messages from my friends, also my work messages weren't making it through. Thanks a ton !!!

Also when I was turning off 'Find my iPhone' app, it prompted me for my Apple ID password - and for some reason it told me that my password was incorrect !! I don't know if someone hacked into my account during one of those multiple prompts I got when I tried the other methods -

- ONLY Turning off iCloud

- Resetting Network Settings - from Settings -> General

- Turning off phone and connecting to iTunes to switch it back on.

But that was more of a precautionary note to anyone trying these methods to crack this issue. So I have a new password to use now.

P.S. - I am not a big forum message guy, but this one definitely deserved a big thank you note.

What a lifesaver! Thanks to Demag, tripplestones and Ashie77. Doing a complete reset that was mentioned in many other posts would have been a real pain.

At first it didn't work, BUT when I shut the phone off with top button, it fixed those annoying itunes push notification and my imessages now work. Remember, SHUT phone off.

My problems started when Verizon tech had me reset Network Settings.

Good day
