Iphone 5s shaky power button

I think they all do it, from what I read in the iFixit tear down its a different button assembly. My iPhone 5 does it a tiny bit, but that button is not very tactile, maybe this is just how they will be, or seaching for a mythical tight one would be nearly impossible.

I can't see how to be honest...

I have tried over 20 phones (iphone 5S). All of the space grey models have the issue but I have to say that the white and gold definitely do not! No play at all.

Its as if the power button has sunk into the device.

Its definitely loud and it interferes with both audio and video recording, a feature I rely upon for my profession so makes it 'not fit for purpose'.

Not to mention the previous message whereby somebody has been contacted and a replacement is on the way to them.

One person is on there 4th replacement with still the same issue. Since you say only the Space Grey models have this issues then thats a worry as the next unit will more than likey have the same issue. I cannot conform that the other colours dont have issues, and the fact you found over twenty including I take it gold is pretty amazing since they are in incredibly short supply. I have to take your word on this but only time will tell what is going to happen. Personally I am not happy with this myself and will be contacting Apple.

I have tested them all by going to every apple store in my area and also network providers who have them on display. In addition, friends who have that model have been greeted with 'can I have a look at your power button' lol.

On another post someone says that gold and silver units do it, it may be down to pot luck as to which phone does this or not as now and then people say thier phone is fine. All I know is I cannot put up with that rattle and if it does it this loudly now will it get worse? Lets hope we all find some resolution. 🙂

I hope you find a phone that is up to spec without the issue. As do I 🙂 bumping along in my wheelchair with that rattle is not going to make calls sound great I must admit.

I have a Gold one and at first it wasn't doing it, but then when I wanted to put on a case, I forced a bit and now power button is shaky.. :(

I just discovered mine had this issue when I took the case off. It's irritating any solutions? :(

I just purchased 2 Iphones 5s 32gb.1 was Black 1 was white with silver trim The white one was perfect the button did not rattle and the feel of the button was solid. teh black one on the other hand had a bad rattle and the button was nearly pushed under the phone so i went to verizon and Asked for an exchange. They sent me a brand new one and i have the same issue with it . This one actually rattles even worse . I think The black model has many defects . i read online that many people were having many issues with the black model and not the white.

I called apple and they are sending me a replacement and im hoping this one will be In good condition.

It effects Gold, White and Space Grey alike its just luck of the draw, and many have had buttons that are fine to begin with but then start doing it. Oddly mine has stopped, for now. I hope you get a good unit but dont count on it.

Did you do anything special to stop the noise?

My Power Buttom is also loose, beyond mine also have the noise in the Home button. It's very annoying ...

The model Apple sent to me has the same issue i even went to a best buy and a different verizon store and every single one had the same issue. So i went back to my iphone 4s and i will wait for either the next batch where hopefully they will fix this issue or just wait for iphone 6 . Good luck to all
