movie rental problems Apple TV

Apple TV upgraded with iOS7 (latest update) but movie rentals do not show up in Main Menu "Movies" as they did previously. Once played or stopped when playing they disappear. When you try to rent again the dialogue says it was previously rented, go to Setting, General, Downloads to retrieve. There is no Downloads.

Also can not pause movie rentals but can pause TV Shows and all previews.

Any suggestions?

HI, I had same problem. I went to settings - general - then region fomrat; mine was set to USA instead of Australia. once i did tht my rentals appeared. HOWEVER. it kept on happening so i checked again - even though it was still on Australia region, i clicked Australia again anyway and again my rentals appeared. so unfortunately i have to keep doing this everytime. Its a slight solution for now, but not the most convenient. PLUS now when i rent something it just says loading for about 30 minutes. the only reason it stops is because i switch to AV2 on my TV and put a DVD in. Thin ice Apple TV, YOU'RE ON THIN ICE!!!!

Just had exactly the same problem, checked wireless network which didint respond, so 'forgot' it and reconnected, still no joy. Then checked for updates, found there was one, installed it and violá, where in Movies, 'Purchased' was before, a new heading 'Rented' has appeared and inside, guess what, my rented movies all ready to watch! 😀

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom. I did as you suggested i.e.

Just a final FYI, I logged out of iTunes, iCloud, and then did a hard reset. I've now rebooted and logged back into iTunes and I suddenly have my rental back. Hope this helps guys.

It worked for us.

Late 2013 and 2014 has been filled with problems with Apple's iTunes, listening to audiobooks, problems with the Podcast App and now Apple TV Movie rental. It's disappointing but there's so much good about it that we will struggle onward, fixing and resetting until we just can't do it any more. If things continue the way they're going with Apple we'll need an in-house tech person.

I'm still having the above posted problem. It has happened the last several rentals. Eventually Apple support gets it back after going through unplugging the Apple TV and signing out of iTunes and resigning in. They are nice to give free rentals but I wish they would get this problem fixed. I am to the point that I'm going to stop renting movies via iTunes. Frustrating.
