Do Not Disturb doesn't work!

New iPhone 5S

iOS 7.0.1 (latest)

Do Not Disturb does NOT work! It still lets in calls. I have tried all the settings to no avail. Even selecting block every call, all the time, the moon icon is showing, but the calls still come through!

What the?! Come on Apple... this is not rocket science. I've embarassed myself in public settings because this easy feature is broken!

A while ago i made the mistake of updating to ios 10.2.1 (14D27) on my iphone 5s since i downloaded this "update" the do not disturb feature has stopped working when the phone is unlocked yes i checked the settings under the specific contacts and in the settings app i can toggle the options freely but it does not fix it. I have tried turning phone off and on and reinstalling the new ios cuz i couldnt figure out how to go back to ios 7, this has been several weeks of this and more problems since update, my location services are permenently greyed off. No amount of fussing with settings or otherwise changes this. Siri left the phone, idk where she went but i cant acess her. All of my 3000 songs just skip through when i try play them but they still take up memory and i cant get them off the device and when i re sync it changes nothing because the device thinks they are there but they obvoisly are not. My battery always lasted 18hours or more from a full charge suddenly after update im lucky to get 2hours. I have trouble with where to start on what you did to my brighness, the phone will not get as bright or as dark as it used to and again i fussed with settings in all kinds of ways but the white point keeps changing itself. The phone will drain battery even when completly powered down. You removed my speech to text feature and this is very annoying. My camera now refuses to focus on the foreground of an image. And should i even start on how inefficient and horribly cluttered the photo roll is now...would prolly take to much time. Im just getting stated on the issues that where not intentional in this "update" but i think you get the point and dont know how much space i have to post. My phone though older is in premium hardwear condition. It has been in a life proof case since unboxing it has no dents cracks scratches or otherwise. Up until i updated this phone had no problems at all. And now i update and your rep tells me my hardwear is bad and i have to buy a new phone? **** you. My phone was fine till you broke it. You aught to send me a new phone with an apology for being scumbags. Do not download the update. I was an apple fan but i will not buy apple again after this.

Doubtful it's a carrier related issue, as it's a SW feature on the device itself.

Is the DnD set to Manual or specific times? I would try turning DnD off, make sure to turn off the scheduled times (if set) and to a hard reset (Hold the home & Sleep buttons together until you see the Apple logo. Then go back in and do one setting at a time, and give it a call from another phone. Set it to manually only, first and see what happens.

Figured it out. Do Not Disturb only works when the switch that silences the phone is set to off (meaning ringer is on).

If you have the switch set to quiet, DND does nothing.

It's confusing, because I have the phone set to vibrate when that switch is on quiet, and I want to stop the vibrations with DND, but it doesn't work.

The other issue is that I NEVER want the phone to ring or make noise... so if I set the switch not be on quiet, then I have to have a ring tone set, as well as other alerts.

Darin is right. Rogers acknowledges there is an issue but in order for a Technical Supervisior / Tier 2 Support to escalate the issue to Apple, they need more info from other Rogers cutomers. If you have raised a ticket earlier, please post your previous ticket # here (I created it just for this purpose!). Thanks everyone!

iOS 8.0 appears to have fixed this issue for me. Today, I had Rogers re-enable the Name Display feature on my account and then I tested numerous calls to my iPhone with various Do Not Disturb and Call Block settings. So far, everything is working as expected (and how it used to work before an iOS 7 update broke it about a year ago). Fingers crossed!
