Music app in iOS7 - glitch?

OK. There is a weird glitch in the Music app, when accessed via the Home button after putting the phone to sleep and coming back.

So you listen to Music through the headphone, and then you quit. Pull out the phone from the jack, the app has stopped, you go do some other stuff, and a couple hours later you decide to plug the headphones in, and then you click on the Home button.

You expect to flick up (because the double click thing to pull up the Play button no longer exists) - so pull up on the new fangled window with all the basic stuff which includes the Music app, along with Bluetooth, Wifi, Flashlight, etc etc, you know that page called Control Center.

And, for some reason, the song you last played isn't there. No song is there. So you press Play anyway - and it starts playing some random song. It hasn't remembered the last song you played.

Has this happened to you?

What is this glitch and can somebody fix it ASAP, because it's seriously annoying to be surprised when this happens. Unless, somebody has an explanation as to why this is happening?

I might have fixed this issue on my 4s, although it is not what I would call a fix but a band aid until Apple fixes the bug. The problem was getting worse, where it would forget where it was on my play list almost every time I disconnected. I polled my family, 3 iPhones (5c, 4 and 3) and none of them had ever had this problem. After asking a FB friend who works at Apple I was stymied because he guessed it was a hardware (as in, but a new one).

Finally, I decided to back up the phone, and then reset it (Settings->General->Reset-> yes->yes again). It was not a big deal in that all my apps, photos etc were still there, but all my settings were put back to factory default and all my ring tones were wrong etc. But it works. It has been a week and it has not lost it’s sh*t. I made sure to connect and disconnect from BT and headphones and run a lot of apps as a test. The only time it lost itself was when I synchronized with iTunes on an unrelated item to check if the PC was recognizing iStuff. So maybe the bug is that the phone was running some synchronization over wifi or some other setting I can’t remember.

This smacks of Microsoft, but I guess a computer is a computer and eventually you have to "re-image" it.

It's not just an annoying problem, it's downright dangerous. I listen to books on my iPhone (4S) and when I turn on the car it takes a while for the Bluetooth audio to sync up (Volvo XC60). So I'm driving down the street and some random song starts playing. I have to pull over, enter my phone security code, open the Audio Player and navigate back to where the book was. At least it remembers where it left off, but this happens about once every 5 times I get in my car. Also happens on my Lexus RX350.
