Duplicate notifications on iOS 7 iPhone 5S - lock screen AND banner

Hi everyone

Hopefully someone can replicate this!

Since upgrading to the iPhone 5S, some of my notifications (e.g. Mail, Foursquare) will appear as nomal in the lock screen... but the most recent one(s) will sometimes then ALSO appear as a banner, once I unlock my device.

Is anyone else noticing this behaviour?

A few thoughts I've had on this so far:

- It's only happened so far when I use TouchID to unlock the phone - therefore, could iOS be assuming that (if the TouchID unlocked the phone REALLY quickly), that I may not have seen it, and so sends me a banner too?

- With the above in mind, I thought that perhaps the M7 chip was showing me duplicates if I hadn't used my phone for a while (incase I'd missed it), but if I wake the homescreen first to scroll though my notifications and THEN use TouchID to unlock it, the notification will sometimes still appear as a banner.

- I don't know if this happens on password entry too, as I will always be using TouchID moving forward

- This problem may not be unique to the 5S, especially if TouchID is not part of the cause

- It could just be a bug.

Anyone else?

Confirmed, having the same exact problem. Never happened on my 4s with iOS7, started happening when I got my 5s. Very frustrating.

I've been having the same problem with imessages since upgrading to iPhone 5S in October. Also using touch ID, I even reset my phone and did NOT download from iCloud back up which didn't help at all. So annoying.

confirmed 5s 7.0.. imessages duplicated when unlocked. very annoying. come on apple.

iOS 7.1 update has fixed the issue. Using an iPhone 5S.

Does the "fix" only apply when the notification hits the lock screen? I currently have notifications turned off on the lock screen because I have a Pebble and don't need multiple notifications. But, when I unlock the phone, I'm bombarded with banners of all the notifications that hit the phone while off.

That could be a possibility. The main issue was that when getting notifications on the lock screen, after unlocking, the same notification would alert again (particularly with the Messages.app). Your iPhone may just be alerting you because it never "showed" the notification, et. al your Pebble connection, etc. I'm not sure of a fix for this. Maybe turn off the notifications you receive on your Pebble completely on the iPhone?

Here's how I use the Pebble: I leave all lock screen notifications on, but I enable "do not disturb" on the iPhone. To make sure I still get phone calls, I set "Allow calls from everyone".

Notifications still make it through to the Pebble even with DND enabled. Also, if you manually turn on the iPhone screen you see all notifications nicely lined up waiting for you. And when you unlock it, they won't be represented. Win-win for me, try it out!

Confirmed here in IOS7.1 iPhone 5s TouchID.

Happens with all applications with notifications. iMessage, Gmail, Hangouts, Facebook, etc.
