My Photo Stream is empty with iCloud Control Panel 3.0

I've got iPhone, iPad and PC (Windows 8) in sync with iCloud Control Panel 2 properly before.

Days ago I upgraded to iCloud Control Panel 3.0, Other shared photo streams and iCloud bookmarks are sync perfectly but "My Photo Stream" is not sync on PC anymore. I've cleaned up iCloud Photos sync folder completely and signed in to the iCloud Control Panel again, but "My Photo Stream" is just not sync.

Any idea?

I uninstalled icloud 3.0 and went back to 2.1.2 and this did not work. 😟 33 out of 720 photos showed up and they were random old photos. I also turned photostream off on both my iphone5s and ipad. I turned both back on and they synced fine with each other, but still just getting random photos on my PC photostream folder. I have tried every suggestion in this forum and none have worked for me, grrr. This is getting frustrating.

Nothing new from Apple Support for the last few days. I emailed my Level 2 tech today---no reply. The last info that I posted is that engineering wanted me to either reinstall Windows 7, or see if the problem still existed with a different server/network. I'm not reinstalling Windows 7, nor can I take my CPU elsewhere to see if the problem exists on a different server, etc., my laptop has XP, which won't work with iCloud 2.1.2 or 3.0, and I don't know people who had 3.0 installed on their computers. One of the techs told me that he had Windows 7.0 and iCloud 3.0 worked just fine for him and most other people. We seem to be the unluckly ones. My independent person had this to say (I'm paraphrasing to the best of my ability): The problem appears to belong to Microsoft. It has been trying to fix the ability to import Photostream pics for several years. It does not happen to every user. The best fix is to reinstall Microsoft Operation System that does not include the patches, (an updated complete version), but even that does not guarantee that Photostream will work. He likens this to a train station hub where various trains get connected to go to a destination---since Photostream comes in sections rather than a continuous flow---thus some "trains' (i.e. our pics) don't get connected to where they are supposed to go....thus, we can get all, some, or none of our photos---depending on how the "hub" is connecting things....it's like the problem is with the switches connecting one train to another, or in our (Microsoft Window) case, one set of Photostream pics to another. I'm taking a Photostream vacation, but am not giving up. Meanwhile I'm downloading my pics directly from the Camera Roll to my PC. Each time I sign out of 3.0 and sign in again, different pics load in random order, but never all of them.... I will update info as I get it.

man that *****..

i have tried following:

reinstalling windows 8 again and again,

installing 2.1.2 several times, then trying 3.0 several times, but no use.

changing the download folder to different drive, no use.

main thing that ***** is photostream only works once in 24hrs, suppose i start photostream process at 8am it will work till 9am and then it will get stop, now if i have to check for new pics i have to try it again the next day, doesnt matter if i change versions, it just wont start.

i dont know whats taking apple so **** long to figure out this problem.

anyway one question does this happens on pc only or if i install mac os will it fix this problem?

and what if i setup photostream on ipad?

I had the same problem on my Windows 7 PC, BUT IT'S FINALLY FIXED!

Open the iCloud Control Panel and then "Sign out". Then, login again with your Apple ID & password, but this time be sure to leave the default "iCloud Photos Location". This will be a subfolder under your Windows "Pictures" folder which will be named "iCloud Photos". NOTE: If you change to a different folder, you'll still have the same problem.

Prior to using the default folder location, I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing, etc. iCloud Control Panel 3.0. Nothing helped until I used the default folder location for Photos.

This does not work for me. Pics do go into the default "iCloud Photos" subfolder under Windows "Pictures" folder. 1st try today=0 pics; 2nd try=140 in random order.

OK everyone I have the FINAL OFFICIAL APPLE REPORT FROM MY LEVEL 2 TECH.....bottom line....it's my problem. Engineering could not replicate the Photostream Problems, therefore, not their issue.....doesn't matter that all of you are having problems.....they consider it a Microsoft Problem...I quote: ...."from engineering is that it is an issue with the windows operating system, at this point with the troubleshooting that we have, you need to go through the process of contacting windows to have the operating system backed up and restored. Since the engineer were not able to recreate the issue that is what is pointing to it being an issue with your computer so at this point you would need to contact windows to have them assist with backing up and restoring the device before we would have anything else for this case."

So, until (and unless) I back up my computer, then restore Windows, nothing further will be happening officially from Apple. So perhaps more people need to call Apple Support and tell them of their problems....including, for those who have done so, that you have backed up your computer and reinstalled Windows......it is a random issue (please refer to earlier 10/28 entry.

Otherwise, I am consulting with a private tech on this issue...meaning Microsoft's problem of getting Photostream to stream the way it is supposed to.

So frustrated....this has been going on for a month. I'm happy that some people in this discussion group have found fixes....I hope the fixes are permanent and not temporary.

i download version 1 of icloud control panel to give it a try maybe it will work..and my last try would be formatting windows 8 and installing a fresh copy and without installing any kind of updates from "windows update" i will try to check it again, if these two things dont work then my last try would be to check on different network.

after these i would say unless apple fix this we r out of luck.ill report back when i have done this.

Yes, good to hear you found a work around.

I am keen to give version 1.0.1 a go, as I have tried all other fixes in this post including re-installing windows and not updating with 'windows update', sadly not even this seemed to work. Nor did using a different network as suggested by apple engineer.

Cant believe apple wont even aknowledge there is an issue! The only update that has occured on my machine that could have triggered this bug was the iCload Control Panel 3.0 update (same with my laptop which now has the same issue).

Where can I find the v1.0.1 download?
