I was having the same problem with DND not working (I am also in the ROGERS network). Thanks to the postings I was able to get the problem solved quicky by asking the ROGERS support person to disable the NAME DISPLAY in my account. Ideally this should be fixed by APPLE or ROGERS, bottom line, this was working fine until I upgraded to 7.0.3 (if I recall correctly). Anyway, I wish to thank all of the people posting because it ionly took me a few minutes on the line with ROGERS to disable the NAME DISPLAY and get the DND feature working.

I have come to rely on Name Display on my land line for over a decade. I daresay it is every bit as valuable to me as Do Not Disturb is on my cell phone. To my mind I can't think of getting Rogers to disable it as a 'fix'.

A temporary diagnostic, maybe, but not an acceptable solution.

I will call Rogers and relay what has been discussed here and plead with them to work with Apple on a real solution but I am NOT optimistic. Rogers is not as pleasant to deal with as Apple... Unless of course you threaten to cancel your cable TV, internet, home phone etc accounts!! Hmmm..yes that may work...

Sadly, you are right to be skeptical of Rogers’ willingness to resolve this issue.

They have already twice closed my tickets on this, claiming that it’s not their network problem but a phone feature problem. The latest Rogers support person I spoke with told me the technicians are pushing back and won’t even look into the issue, because they don’t agree that it’s Rogers' problem.

I’ve requested a management call back. I’m hoping I can successfully make the case that this is indeed a Rogers problem, which likely affects every Rogers and Fido customer with Name Display using an iPhone on iOS 7.

I encourage everyone who has this specific issue, and has temporarily resolved it by having Name Display disabled, to call Rogers or Fido and open a support ticket and/or register a complaint. It will likely take a critical mass of complaints to get Rogers to take this seriously.

So far Rogers has been pretty receptive with me on this issue. They were able to troubleshoot the problem on my phone and had a level 2 tech confirm the issue from their end. Remember to call from a different phone so they can reproduce the issue for you (I used my iPad with the Rogers One Number app, and it worked like a charm!)

My original complaint was about the call block feature not working, but I did explain that it also extends to the Do Not Disturb function. I agree with Darin that the more people that call Rogers to open a support ticket, the better.

They called for more info and said if I don't hear back in 48 hrs, to call again to ask for a follow-up.

wongnog, I'll be very interested to hear what Rogers says to you during their follow-up.

I just called Rogers for a third time. Surprisingly, they had already referenced your ticket number on my account. They've confirmed the issue exists, but again said to me that this is not a network issue but a device issue. Their second level support team says their network team refuses to take it any further. They said to take it up with Apple if we want this resolved. End. Of. Story.

It didn't matter to them that I'd already spent two weeks troubleshooting and testing with Apple to conclude it was a Rogers Name Display compatibility issue. It didn't matter to them that Apple encouraged me to call Rogers so that Rogers' technical team would contact their established Apple counterparts to get to the bottom of this carrier-specific issue and work together for a solution.

Unfortunately, I was unavailable when Rogers Management Office called me back today. Hopefully, I'll be able to connect with them tomorrow. We'll see if they decide to instruct their people to initiate contact with Apple, or if they choose to leave us hanging.

okay slight update. Tier 2 support needs 10 more rogers customers experiencing this issue to add it to the master ticket. If you have raised a ticket earlier, please post your previous ticket # here so I can pass it on to them. Alternatively you can email me your Rogers customer name and phone number and I will let them know. Emails can be sent to (I created it just for this purpose!). Thanks everyone!

I decided to give Apple Support a call to see if I could escalate matters from that end. Long story short, I ended up speaking with an iOS Senior Advisor by the name of Lisa Perez (she okayed me posting her name here!) for over an hour. She was adamant that she would get to the bottom of this but did warn that a fix would not be available tomorrow. But she acknowledged that it is some sort of issue between the carrier (Rogers and Fido) and Apple and that engineers from both parties need to get together to fix this. In the US, none of the cell carriers there offer a call waiting with name display feature, similar to caller ID for home phones. So that is one reason that Apple isn't that aware of this issue. Anyway Lisa gave me her email address and phone number, so if anyone else here already spoke to Apple and has a case #, please send me an email at so I can pass it along to her (Darin Wilson, hotsytotsy, sensei1045, and Jack1976 could you please get in touch with me?). Hopefully we can get this fixed for good!

wongnog, I've sent you an email with some additional information.

At least we now know that Rogers says they'll do something about this, if they receive enough complaints. That means everyone who has the same confirmed issue with Name Display needs to contact Rogers directly.

Fellow users, please don't assume that you don't need to do anything because someone else is doing it. Every new complaint to Rogers matters!

Thanks Darin, I got your email. Unfortunately it looks like my posts here are being editing with my gmail address removed (btw it started with RogersDND) which is unfortunate because there's no private messaging on this board. Anyway if you have called Rogers or apple and have a ticket or case #, please post it here. If you have never called Rogers before, please do so but ask for a tier 2 supervisor. Same with apple, ask for an iOS senior advisor. Then post yor case #s here. This will help increase visibility for this problem and hopefully a swifter resolution. Thanks everyone!

Apple has been really great, Lisa has personally called me back twice and emailed me several times with updates. The updates are mostly that apple is investigating and reaching out to rogers but surprisingly rogers is giving apple the same runaround that they're giving the customers: there is no issue from their end, it's an apple software and everything works the way it should. If you want do not disturb or call blocking features, then use the rogers one number app. It's absolutely absurd! Anyway I just got off the phone with rogers again, had a lovely argument with tier 2 support on how can they justify saying this is not a rogers issue, but they did escalate the ticket and told me to call back during business hours in order to reach someone who supervises the tier 2 support team. I also provided them with the names and numbers of 3 other rogers customers experiencing this problem. If anyone else wants to reach me, please do: RogersDND at gmail dot com.
