Hey,
I'm considering to update to iOS7, but i don't want to risk losing my data (especially my contacts, photos and whatsapp chat history)..
Now, if I am correct, then, an itunes backup saves my contacts and photo's.
However, my question is whether an iTunes backup also saves my whatsapp chat history?
Can someone help me out please?

I already read that, but just wanted to be sure!
So, basically, there is no real difference between a backup in itunes or in icloud, apart from the destination of the saved data and the fact that with icloud you can choose which things you want to transfer/save?
If you already read it, then you know that app data is part of either the icloud or itunes backup.
Like i said, I just wanted to be sure!

It didn't work for me. I backed up my phone on August 4th and when I encountered a problem and had to do a restore (from 4th August), none of the apps were there. And most importantly, WhatsApp with thousands of messages with my clients were gone. When I reinstalled the app, it asked me if I want to restore, but even after restoring 700mb from iCloud, it is just blank. Really frustrating. Now nearly a month on, I am still trying to recover back my thousands of messages.
Does iTunes backup whatsapp chat history ?
