Wifi not working after upgrade to iOS 7

After upgrading iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S, the wifi is not working. It cannot detect any wifi nor am I able to enable wifi under settings. Is there a way for me to fix this?

I've been suffering from the wifi/Bluetooth being fried on my phone for a while. It has nothing to do with software and everything to do with hardware.

Strangest thing happened today, while working I left my phone in the car, today being one of those rare days when the sun comes out in the UK the inside of the car became roasting hot. When I got in the car I noticed that my phone had a warning stating that it had become too hot and needed to cool before I could use it. I switched the car air on to full and cooled the phone against a vent then noticed that after it had come back to life the Bluetooth had started working and after resetting the network settings the wifi also came back to life. I can only assume that the heat inside the car was enough to slightly reflow the solder on the chip and fix the issue.

In summary, if your phones wifi/Bluetooth is screwed, leave it in the car for a few hours on a hot day the cool it and reset the network settings. If you live in a cold country that has no sun I'm afraid you are out of luck.

So,

I had the same problem for a while now. After I used the blowdryer method, it worked for like a few weeks with my phone using wifi only when I'm at home.

After that, I started to use a wifi egg instead of data, this means I'm using wifi 24/7 with the phone. The wifi button got greyed out again. So I did the blowdryer method again. But this time it only works for like a week.

After having to blowdry it every week or so, the wifi completely gave out on me. I'd blowdry and it'd work for like half a day. After that it'll stop functioning again...

Is there a permanent solution? Or should replace the wifi antenna/chip or something?

Just to update, decided to try this tutorial:

https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Fix+iPhone+4S+Wi-Fi+Grayed+Out/22167

the process was a bit nerve wrecking, but all in all not too bad - did it yesterday so I can't vouch for the long run, but both my wifi and bluetooth are working now after almost 6 months without them.

It'll probably void warranty, but in case you don't have any or apple is just ******* on you (like most of us) I think it's worth giving it a shot.

worst case scenario - get an android!

This is just another issue that Apple will not take responsibility for. I had a perfectly working 4s. I updated it on itunes after doing a restore. It would not allow wifi to work. Also blue tooth did not work. I spent time with Apple rep, who basically said I was SOL. Despite problem only occurring after update. And they will not accept that the update killed my phone. They do what a vacuum is designed to do. This may someday be a repair they cover like the power button on iPhone 5. This is a travesty. They force updates on us, then claim the phone was not right even though it was working. I will never update a working phone again. This will cost many users. This is no way to win customers.

Jobs is sorely missed. He would never allow this sort of BS. It is a totally unwarranted play to get you to buy a new phone you don't need.

Doesn't work. Ever since that latest iOS upgrade in October 2014, my home wifi does not work on my iPad 2. I have two types of wifi hotspots at home and both the iPad is rejecting even with the whole 'resetting business'. From reading this forum, it is no coincidence. Every time you upgrade iOS your device is at risk of getting damaged. Thankfully I can still use the coffee shop wifi hotspots. Once that peeters out, I'm replacing my iPad with a non-Apple device. I am deeply disappointed with the service. The iPad was my #1 electronic friend. They would have had repeat business from me forever. 😟
