Wifi not working after upgrade to iOS 7

After upgrading iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S, the wifi is not working. It cannot detect any wifi nor am I able to enable wifi under settings. Is there a way for me to fix this?

That's one option. The other is to analyze your problem. If it works one place and not a different place MAYBE, just MAYBE, it has something to do with the location rather than the phone. Have you tried rebooting your router, for a start? That will fix most location specific problems. Routers get cranky after a while and stop assigning new IP addresses. Devices that have an IP address are not affected, but devices whose lease has expired, or that have just been upgraded and lost their IP address when memory is cleared will need a new assigned IP address. If the router's IP address shop (the DHCP daemon) isn't working the phone is out of luck.

Ok I've spent weeks working on this. My iPad and iPhone were working fine with ios7, this same low or dropping wifi issue on both of my wife's. I tried everything I've read on the web - reset router to put it in the freezer - and nothing worked. I assumed it was something with her devices / the upgrade since that's when it started.

Yesterday mine started doing it too - out of the blue.

Decided to see if it was he router - replaced my Linksys 300N with an airport express......all is good!

Hopefully it stays that way but that's my suggestion. Working fine now. So is my iMac, work laptop, etc.

Seen a lot of forums with this issue. I have just FIXED this. Ios7 seemed to burn out my wifi antenna. No matter what resets/ airplane mode / restore etc etc. Nothing worked. Someone then advised it may be a hardware issue. And it WAS. I have an iphone 4. I bought an antenna online for €8.60 delivered. I installed it ( with the help of utube tonight ) and hey presto. 100% signal. Even better than before I'd say.

This may not be the fix for everyone but it was a cheap fix and it did work. IOS7 definitely did the damage as I lost signal immediately after install. But this isint all iphone 4's as my friend updated to ios7 with a 4 and had no issues. So it seems to be sporadic and unfortunate for me the wifi died.

My advise to anyone with this issue is try all these software fixes and if you still have a phone than won't pick up wifi then chance buying new part and installing.

Best of luck

Ps- you'll need a small tools/ kit to do the fix. See utube.

Having the same issue here. we have 7 apple devices and the only one that has failed after the upgrade os my ipad 2 and also my sons macbook which is only weeks old. Very frustrating apple. Booked into the genius bar on Sunday hopefully they will be able to ahed some light on the issue. On the technical side the issue on my ipad seems to be that the ipad now will not connect to the internal network ip address range 192.168.0.1 _255. It wants to connect to an external ip 169.254.200.111 which is somewhere in Washington. Was able to resolve the issue by setting my sons macbook to a static ip address 192.168.0.255 but this is not a long term solution as on our home network we have about 18 devices and I certainly dont want to manage a static network especially when visitors want to connect to the guest network on the house. My ipad seems unfixable though even with a static ip address. Apple really needs to fix this and not by telling people to buy new routers.

I have the same problem,

I took my 2nd 4s to my service provider after updating to the ios. 7 and the wifi had stop working, and they were happy to replace it with a reconditioned near new 4s which was fine.

So i took it home updated the new 4s to the ios. 7 and backed it up, and just today Fri 11/10/13, only having the phone since Tues 8/10/13 less than a week i have no wifi on my new phone.

But this has happened to me 3 F-ing times 1st one i only had the phone 6 months brand new when the new update ios 6 NO WIFI and now this with the ios 7 update.

APPLE dont bring out an update that kills your phones or i will just go and buy a Samsung.

Addressese beginning 169.254 are self-assigned IP addresses that ANY device creates when the router fails to assign an IP address when the device asks. This means that the DHCP server in the router, the "app" that assigns IP addresses, has crashed. To fix it reboot the router, and if that doesn't resolve it update the firmware in the router.

THIS IS A ROUTER PROBLEM, not a device problem.

I think that was the problem, the upgrade caused the wifi chip to overheat and thus causing a hardware malfunction and damage (excuse me I'm not an expert but just what I understand from information)

it would be helpful if someone could confirm that this is the case and whether the wifi chip can be replaced to rectify the problem as hs been suggested by others?

The fact that this feature.. remove network ... is gone IOS 7 is flat out poor design by apple for which no customer was clearly consulted. It now forces me to go into my modem software (a HUGE pain the *** I might add) and refresh the list of devies to get the modem to "forget" the phone instead.

Apple FIX THIS GROSS PROGRAMMING DESIGN FLAW - and in fact I've done sw development for 25 years and I'd call this a Critical Fix instead.

There is NO excuse to make a customer go through this!
