iTunes 11.1 freezing constantly.

An update (iTunes 11.1.1) was just released that fixed the problem for me.

Just updated to iTunes 11.1.1 - icons in the are broken and iTunes quits when clicking TV shows in sidebar. :-(

Fixed by downloading and re-installing iTunes 11.1.1

Unfortunately the latest iTunes 11.1.1 didn't resolve my freeze problems.

Watching a show on AppleTV, show finished, returned to menu, and couldn't load anything else. iTunes had frozen again.

It's been happening 2 or 3 times a night since the updates.

Problem still persists for me as well.

Upgrading to 11.1.1 seems to have solved it for me. I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm happy so far.

I updated to 11.1.1; now iTunes is freezing when it isn't actively doing anything at all. I am glad to see that it's working for some, though.

I'm having the same problem - annoying.

Same here. iTunes just freezes. Usually just when running in background doing airplay stuff.

Everyone Just make sure that when it crashed you always submit the crash report.

I'm getting a buttload of freezes now with 11.1.1 - with the constant freezing when trying to sync, the long time waiting for 'preparing to update/waiting for update to finish', smart playlists and live updating not doing what they're supposed to be doing, and sometimes itunes not even bothering to recognize my phone despite my phone itself not having issues.. I dunno how much longer I can take with itunes on my computer.

We have all discussed the problems with freezing that we are having. Have we discussed any other potentially related factors? For myself, I have my library on a Drobo. I find that the Drobo is being ejected unexpectedly multiple times per day and I think this is related to the freeze up problem. Are any of you using the same device or have your library on an external drive? Are you experiencing any unexpected ejections? The next time I get a freeze I will try to examine my consul log and find any evidence of problem there. I would encourage all of you to do the same.

I dont know how to interpret the "error report" data that gets sent to apple.....

Update hasn't fixed the problem for me either. iTunes keeps freezing. Happens while streaming to AppleTV and sometimes when editing video info in iTunes to change media type. My library is on an external drive as well. Don't know if that is a common issue.

This seems to be related to Wi-Fi sync, at least on my system. I turned off Wi-Fi sync for all my devices (two on iOS 7, two on iOS 6) and since then iTunes has been solid. No crashes, no beach balls, no memory leaks.
