I have 3 pages of games for a total of 25. Is there a way to fit more per folder page? Currently there are 3 rows, but with 5 rows (it should fit), I could have all my games on 2 pages. Seems like a waste of screen space otherwise and more fumbling around to get to what I want.
This is a serious oversight on apple's part (Jony's?). The Cons FAR outweight the Pros on this one.
Pros:
1) Looks "pretty" and perhaps "balanced" from a design perspective. the icons in the folder match the tiny icon layout when the folder isn't open.
Cons:
1) My apps are now in new locations on the screen making my finger memory useless, having to learn all over where certain apps are requiring much time searching my screen and swiping to excess pages within a folder.
2) Prime screen space wasted! The screen is very small to begin with, and every pixel should be well utilized!! if app icons fit four wide, then MAKE THEM FOUR WIDE PLEASE!
3) So much unused space on the screen makes it look POORLY DESIGNED AND UNBALANCED from my perspective, negating the only pro listed above IMHO.
PLEASE reduce the space between app icons and make it 4 in a row as it was in iOS 6. SERIOUSLY. I couldn't care less about it "matching how it looks when the folder is unopened".

I could not agree more. This is form over function and it's wrong. I also believe the design has erred for many of the minimalized icons. For instance, the book mark icon in Safai is no longer a book. A first time iOS user is going to have to guess what that is. Maybe you and I have seen it enough times when it was a book that we can recognize the vague outline, but for new users ease of use is lost.
Here's a way to keep everything on one screen...sort of. You can evidently nest folders. I haven't been able to do it, but the author claims he has nested to 5 deep.

I agree with u , Dacracot.
I made folders to minimise the amount of tabs/swipes, So i had easy access and overview.
Now with only 3*3 i have lost the overview (since now the remaining apps are on the second screen). It's not life threatening, but i liked to the 4*4.
If you think the space is wasted on the iPhone, take a look at the iPad. 3x3 is friggin ridiculous, and there is essentially no point to folders at all if I have to swipe through screens within the folder - may as well just have a regular page for those apps. In fact, I have begun to pull apps out of folders so I can get to them with less swiping. Stupid. I have already sent feedback to Apple even though I know nothing will change.
The 3x3 folder design was probably one of the first things I hit when using the updated iOS and I've gotta say that it is truly awful. (I already left feedback to Apple). I had lots of folders with apps I don't access often, or want grouped together and now I'm stuck paging through them. One of the best things about folders, other than being able to group apps, was that apps in a folder are kind of hidden. I don't need page with my utility apps or my bank account apps, but now I'm thinking of going back to screens for many of my folders as paging through apps in the 3x3 folder is going to be a bigger pain then just swiping past an extra page.
You can't change the folder layout. Note that you can put more than 9 apps/folder, i.e. each folder can have many, many apps. Swipe rigth to left to see other screens.
I knew about the paging within folders and welcome it, but the 3x3 view per page verses enough real estate for perhaps a 4x5 view is annoying.
Nested folders by no means helps with this issue.
Can I increase the iOS7 folder size from 3 rows to 4 or 5?
