iTunes on my Mac is updated to 11.1 (126). I have update the operating system on my iPhone 5 to iOS 7. When syncing the iphone with my PC since the iOS upgrade, it gets stuck on Waiting for Items to Copy (Step 7 of 7).
iPod (5th generation)
That happens to me sometimes. Try restarting the phone and the laptop, and it might take some time so leave it. thats what i did.
In case it helps... I've recently started getting this problem on my iPod. To fix it I set the iPod to sync via WiFi, then started the sync on the iPod.
As it goes through the sync process, it tells you what it is currently syncing. In my case, it always stopped at one particular track on one album. So changed the iPod in iTunes to allow me to manually manage it, deleted the album in question, then set up the automatic sync again.
Syncs properly now.

This Genuinely fixed it. I added the exception mid-sync when it was stuck, and lo and behold, it had finished syncing before I even brought up the iTunes window again. THANK YOU
I thought I had this problem too, which is how I ended up in this forum.
But then I went into the music app on my iPhone and went onto songs and at the bottom of the list it said words to the effect of "18000 or 20000 songs" and that updated every few seconds... so for me it was ridiculously slow but not broken.
It would have been helpful if iTunes had a progress bar ... rather than leaving the same message on the screen for hours or days on end.
