No it's not, it's almost completely wrong. As I said it's not a RAM issue with iOS (as long as you have at least 512MB), it's mostly about CPU/GPU speed. iOS is optimised for the A5 and later chipsets (i.e the 4s and above). However, it's not that iOS 7 won't run on an iPhone 4, it runs fine on an iPhone 4 if you configure it correctly.

There are about a kajillion articles on the web describing what settings to adjust to make iOS 7 run better on an iPhone 4.

We are talking about Apple products. Even iPhone 4 is not slow per se (except for graphics, and this is why Appe limits iOS 7 transitions on that phone). But if the phone takes few second to restart an application every times you switch from one to another because OS body takes more memory in RAM comparing to previous version, then it shows significantly.

My iPhone 4 i turtle speed slow on iOS 7. Apple you came up with an awsome marketing stradegy bu I can't upgrade my phone for a year. So guess I'm stuck with an slow phone for the next year. Thanks apple for being a company that cares bout your customers. What they should does in offer evrybody on A4 devices a downgrade to iOS 6.1.3 which worked fine by the way. THey dropped the A4 iPad 1 for a reason. Why would the iPhone A4 chip e any better. Yes it is a retina device but the hardware can't keep up with the software. Please let the iPhone 4 people have a downgrade. Plus I really don't want to jailbreak my phone because one it's on a contract and two jailbreaks can contain viruses and three iOS 7.0.4 is not possible to jailbreak as of now. So if Apple really gives a hoot about there customers they should offer a downgrade to iOS 6.1.3. Now as for how good the OS is it is awsome. To be honest it is the best mobile OS I have ever used. I cannot love the interface though if it is laggy and slow. And for you tech buffs out there, yes did turn on Icrease contrast (which geet rid of the blurring) and reduce motion (which turs off the parralax efect). So it should run fine. But it runs like my 7 year old windows xp laptop. Apple I know your scared about device compatibiliry and OS fragmentaion, but for the next year or two most apple app store apps should be able to be iOS 5+compatible. In my mind I would be happy to have iOS 6.1.3 for another year. Maily because I would like to upgrade in a year to whatever come next which should have the next OS based on your hstory as a company, but we all know rummors aren't always true.

So what am I asking Apple, I am asking that you offer JUST iPhone 4 owners a downgrade to iOS 6.1.3 and take away the notification to upgrade to iOS seven. Just use it the critism from Android and Windows as constructive critism. We can't alway be right, but we do have to admit mistakes.

Apple has never, and (probably) will never offer iOS downgrades, for many, many technical reasons. If you absolutely, positively, MUST have an iPhone that uses iOS 6, get an iPhone 3GS. That's your only option.

Option 2:

I too was suckered into my iphone 4/ mobile carrier contract... iphone 4 was terrible after the update to 7.......

Bunk that... was an upgrade not an update......but.......

So purchased 3 5s's and if I purchased a ipad mini was able to keep my contract in good standing and trade in the 4 for credit toward the mini.

Also picked up a 4s.

The 4s and ipad mini came thru with ios6.........

The update ( ha ha ha ) is highlighted on the devices, and I have given the suggestion to the users of these devices NOT to update (ha ha ha ...upgrade)

Can I downgrade from ISO 7 to 6.1.3
