Agreed! It's cheap, nasty, tacky, hard to read... Massively disappointing and am disgusted that there is no option to keep my old look. I have submitted feedback as suggested... PLEASE ADD YOUR FEEDBACK if you haven't already... Been an iPhone fan since the beginning but AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING CHANGING PHONES AND ABANDONING APPLE - ios 7 is just yukky! 😟

Monthy fees? Phone operating, Verizon for one, AT & T the other.

What does that have to do with Apple? Dude, you need to get a dose of reality here.

A. You have never been able to downgrade an Apple iOS release

B. The license from Apple that you sign in order to be able to run the iOS and other Apple software is free (as is the software itself)

You buy the hardware from Apple - they provide Apple software and the underlying iOS to use that hardware. However, you do not own the software. Apple does. If you have taken the time to read the Software License Agreement that you sign every time you download software from Apple, then you are already aware that Apple leases you the software, which, in essence, gives you permission to use it. Period.

Also, when was the last time you paid for any iOS software? So, you have not paid anything for it. You paid for your phone - you own your phone. You do not own the Apple software that runs on your phone.

If you have NOT ever read the Software Agreement, then shame on you. Ignorance of the license that you signed does not absolve you of your responsibility to know what it is you signed.

Next time you decide to go on an Apple-bashing expedition, make sure you have your facts straight. Your gripes are totally pointless.

To the sixth post of this thread.

After getting duped with updates and upgrades........on my mac pro over the years..........

I learned and stopped at 10.5.8...........and I'm good with this...it works for me.

But new to this iphone thing, I picked up the 4 in March.......all was fine....

Didn't review the ios7 before I installed it.......it's workable but I prfered the speed of the ios6 and have had to disable everything not to kill the battery.....

But as to your comment ........it came through as an UPDATE...not and UPGRADE......

If the update was labelled as an UPGRADE which it was not........more people may have stayed with the 6....Includeing yours truely.

THANKS APPLE

People have the right to express criticism of a product. Get over it. Most of us agree on one point: iOS 7 ***** balls. It ***** major balls on older devices. Apple has ruined the user experience for MANY users.

This is exactly the kind of b.s. rhetoric put forth by those uninformed, blind-faith fanboys and fangirls that boils my blood. Not only is your argument completely lacking any display of empathy towards a ****** off customer - it's logically flawed and exhibits the reasoning capability of a toilet.

What, you can't accept the fact that:

a) someone is displeased with Apple?

b) Apple is responsible for a major screw up?

Let me remind all of you that everybody has the right to express their discontent with any person, product, company, or ideology - especially towards something as meaningless as Apple, Inc. Get over it. The fact that some of you so ardently defend Apple while using your pets as profile images shows you have major issues. You take attacks against Apple as attacks against yourselves - only to then turn around and lob ad-hominem attacks against those critical of that company that has essentially defined your empty, consumer-ridden, Apple-devoted lifestyle.

Get over the fact that people criticize Apple - partly or in its entirety. Why are you defending a company so viciously? Yolo.

Let's move on to the facts.

1. People do pay for the software.

While no direct pricing mechanism is levied on customers for iOS, it is paid for by customers when they purchase the hardware. There are also secondary means by which iOS is paid for, such as the ridiculous Developer Program fees. I'm sure I struck a nerve with some of you already (did he call the Dev program fee ridiculous? NOOOOOO!!!)

2. While the software may be leased; not owned, is beside the point.

If you pay for something you have the right to criticize it. Whether the product at hand is leased or owned is beside the point. The message people are communicating on these forums is that this update essentially destroys the user experience for users. I agree - iOS 7 ***** balls.

I'm pretty sure that even if we owned the software and paid for it (directly) that a good portion of fanboys would get upset at the mere hint of a suggestion that Apple is flawed.

3. Shaming people for not reading a SLA? You are a tool.

The very fact that you use this as an argument to defend valid criticism of a product shows how much of a tool you really are. You should be ashamed of going above and beyond in blindly defending valid criticism while simultaneously making personal attacks against others.

4. While it is true that Apple has never allowed downgrades to take place on iOS devices, it does not justify the practice. People should have the right to do as they please with hardware they own.

In a perfect world Apple would be sued for these practices. When you buy something, you own it. While it isn't Apple's responsibility to enable us to dick around with their hardware, it certainly is foul play on their part when they PREVENT us from doing so.

Apple did with iOS 7 what Microsoft did with Windows 8: they threw a crappy user experience out there and decided they knew better than their customers did.

Bye bye Apple.

What I find most upsetting is that apple were aware of what problems would be caused by ios7 on older phones. They weighed up the pros and cons but still decided to go ahead. Showing no respect for their loyal customers. It appears it comes down to dollars and cents. What they will earn in the future from ios7 far out weighs the utter contempt shown for loyal customers. Good by apple!

Exactly.

In my company, we have already c.a. 25 iPhones4 and 7 iPhone5. Those, who have iPhone5 and upgraded to ios7, do not complain, but everyone who has upgraded ios6 to ios7 returns its phone to our company's technical division, and orders new GSM phone - Nokia or any Android (Samsung or HTC).

Let me know why there is no ios7 for iPhone3G?! Because electronics of iPhone3GS (like iPhone4) was not designed for multithreading operating system!

Who could be so stupid as to think that the phone with a single-core processor will properly work with the operating system designed for dual-core phones. The R & D of Apple lacks coherence and responsibility for their decisions. There probably no one decides or someone very is shortsighted. Maybe they have vacancy for R&D Manager position and release of ios7 was an invitation for new smart employees? 🙂

I have a feeling that someone (stupid) had had there an idea that overclocking the CPU of iPhone4 will be the solution, but as you can see that the iOS6 battery operated for c.a. 30-38h, now operates 4-8h under control ios7 😉
