I did NOTHING unusual today. Went to work, lunch time, got my phone out. Wanted to check some notes.
Opened the app and..........ALL NOTES ARE GONE.
Wow!
Screw APPLE. This is pathetic (as well as your new iOS "look")
Did you backup your phone to your computer or iCloud? Your notes would be in your backup.
Yet I did, weeks ago. But that doesn't matter. I see NO NOTES in my NOTES app. They just disappeared. They were there yesterday.
I checked the email acct associated with the NOTES app in the NOTES settings. CHECK.... no change.
I checked the NOTES folder in the actual email acct (from a web browser). CHECK.... all notes are there!!!
But the iOS7 NOTES app shows NO NOTES. That is screwed.
Also noticed in my iOS7 NOTES app, there is NO "Accounts" option in the upper left side of screen. Using an iPhone 4s. On an iPhone 5, the "Accounts" option appears.
I just created a new NOTE in the iOS7 NOTES app. The note did NOT end up in the NOTES folder in the email account associated with the iOS7 NOTES app.
An obvious bug.
What next Apple? Are all my contacts going to disapper as well?
i am having the EXACT same problem with my 4s i just noticed it today. the last note i entered was a few days ago. when i log into my gmail and icloud accounts all my notes are there. but on my iphone no matter what i select in settings as my default notes when i go into the app the accounts option link is completely gone. both accounts are turned on and looks to be syncing in the settings.

[as i was typing this i was in the middle of updating to 7.0.2 and my phone just came back from the restart. i rechecked and my notes are back. not sure if it was the restart or the update but now its fixed]
Same issue with 4s. My iCloud is the email associated but I don't see a NOTES folder in that email? I can't restore until I get a new phone since I don't have enough space. Any help would be appreciated.
Same thing happened to me in the grocery store about 15 minutes ago. I've been on iOS7 for about five days. My notes were all there from my last backup until today. I made a new note on iOS7 for the first time about two hours ago, and when I went back in to look at that note, all my notes were gone.
check under settings> mail contact calenders and see if notes are turned on in your email.. if so they are being pulled into your email by your email account extremely common problem with yahoo. if the notes are on then they are in an inbox folder in your email titled notes.. turn notes off in the email and it will not happen anymore
Boogaloo!!!! Thank you! After my ios7 upgrade, I lost various original song lyrics, inspiration/writing notes, and general notes (from recording sessions). Needless to say, I was furious about the loss! I just found them hiding in Yahoo. I have been an ipad user since 2nd gen and I have never experienced anything like this horrible upgrade. I can get used to the hideous colors, but man, apps have to be stable!

hi, this morning ive noticed all my notes have disappeared from my iphone 5 and my ipad, and im furious as i had lots of work info on there, pls if anyone can help pls do, my husband has just left iphone and gone to samsung, i thought he was mad but im so angry i may follow suit
Thank you so much - found my notes - sorry to be dim but having seen other posts want to make sure do not turn off in the wrong place. so when you said turn off in the email (I have yahoo and my default is yahoo) - where do you mean??
You go under settings>mail contacts and calenders and turn your notes off under your email.. It is nothing to do with apple it is a sync that is set up by your email and yahoo in particular is the worst one that it happens in and they pride themselves in this one way sync..

@sharon.ryan... look at the fix that I posted it will tell you how to fix it.. it is not an apple thing it is an email thing by turning your notes, calenders or contacts on under your email settings on the phone you are telling it that you want it to sync with your email.. if you only want mail to sync with your phone then turn all others off and they will no longer sync to your email and not the phone apps

What a train wreck!!!! Al of my notes disappeared today on my ipad with ios7. Thanks to the suggestions in this forum, I found them buried in my gmail 'notes' folder!!?? What the heck. It's bad enough trying to read yellow on white in the 'Improved' Notes app. What happened to common sense?
