iOS7 BUG? ALL MY NOTES disappeared. WHY?

Today I lost my notes, except one, they just vanished. I dont have a yahoo account set up on my PC or phone. I have cox and hotmail. However neither of these has a sync note option under setting to turn on/off. I have an 4s but not enough space to upgrade to ios7. I logged on to icloud but there isnt anything there. All my notes vanished except one note. I did do a back up with my ipad (which i dont sync the notes in icloud) before i noticed they vanished. any thoughts?

Which if it had been done in all the above cases, there never would have been an issue.

Thanks for that - solved the problem for me. I use Yahoo email. One small point - I found my missing Notes in my Yahoo Yahoo email account as opposed to my Apple Yahoo email account, if you follow me.

question: how do you recover the notes that were taken to your mail account? Aside from retyping them all.

Also, "sync" should not mean "remove from one device and put them on the other". Bad idea

Same thing just happened on my IPad 2. 20+ pages of notes are just gone! Including tedious data it had been collecting for months for health issues. I've had IOS 7 for weeks now but this just happened today.

I just found my notes on my iPhone which is really strange since all my iCloud settings are turned OFF because I share my iTunes account with my daughter - does this mean she has them too?

the notes app has always had issues its not because of the new iOS 7 update. i'd suggest you look for a different notes app

You just made my day! I can't tell you how many times I thought my notes were being deleted by hitting the trash can on the bottom center of the notes page by accident. It happened again this morning when I added a new note and I knew I hadn't touched the trash can so I finally decided to google the problem. I had the notes feature turned on and found 17 pages of notes dated from July of 2012 that I never knew were in my Yahoo account. Thank you so much!!! 🙂

I have lost everything (notes). I have tried everything that has mentioned here and nothing has come back.

I have [gmail] and I have even logged into my Gmail account and checked the Notes folder and nothing is there.

Please, someone from Apple can you shed some light on this? I have a TON of notes that have just disappeared except for 1 note (my first ever note from years ago). I have just upgraded to OS X Mavericks and I don't see any Notes section under the "Mail App" so i am completely LOST!!

My Notes folder in my Yahoo account does not show up on my iphone. I can only access my notes when I log in through the computer now. Not sure if that is the same with Gmail.

Hi boogaboo214. THANK YOU so much for posting this solve. I've been losing my mind over the past few days about my lost notes. It's good to know they're still hrere. I was able to find them in Yahoo. Here's my question/concern: When I go to Yahho under Mail, Contacts and Calenders and turn off Notes under my email, the iPhone asks if I'm sure I want to turn Notes off because all Yahoo notes will be removed from iPhone. I want to get the notes back on the iPhone, not delete them from Yahoo. Will turning it off move the notes back to the phone???

They don't sync back to the phone..but if u access the browser to get to your email u can copy and paste them into notes again. When u turn it off on it phone it does not delete them from it email

I too have lost my notes after the so called upgrade. I do not have Yahoo, but do have Gmail. I restored my iphone 4 from a backup and found the notes came back....then disappeared after I went to the next note. My backup is on my personal computer. I think they are still in the backup. How do I get them back so they don't disappear again.

I found a setting in "icloud" On-off. I assume that is just recording data and is stored in the heavens. It appears unlike a windows program that I cannot see what I have stored???? Even the info on the backup appears unviewable???

The other setting "Notes" only offers a choice of checking one of my two email accounts....Why not a choice.. "Leave them Alone'!!!!

Is there another note choice somewhere else. Finally what do the settings have to be set at before I try a backup again?
