iOS7 BUG? ALL MY NOTES disappeared. WHY?

I did NOTHING unusual today. Went to work, lunch time, got my phone out. Wanted to check some notes.

Opened the app and..........ALL NOTES ARE GONE.

Wow!

Screw APPLE. This is pathetic (as well as your new iOS "look")

Is it safe to assume that if you are using an Exchange account and have your notes set to sync, and also did not catch that they had been deleted by the upgrade to IOS 7 before the 30 day limit for retrieval in Exchange, that they are gone from both Exchange and the IOS 7 device? I did not have backup to the iCloud turned on either. That would leave as my only choice for recovery is a backup from iTunes, which I do have. My only issue is any 3rd party programs I have found cost around $100 to use fully. Anything out there that is less expensive?

I think my missing notes are in a backup on my Windows computer..So far I can not access that backup. Im wondering if the upgrade IOS7 has rendered that useless. It was wrong for Apple to have the defaults turned "ON" for the notes allowing them to be accessed by various servers.

There are several "Note" Apps available on for the iphone which leave the notes on the phone were most of us want them.

I went to Settings > Notes and set "Default Account" to "On my iPhone". I still don.t understand how Google (in my case) got into the picture my default Email is ATT BTW.

This came out of nowhwere and is aggravating - I don't see the utility. I share other people's disgust with iOS 7 as the thinline is hard to read and other changes to the look and feel are likewise pointless and annoying.

I'm glad the people at Apple aren't designing interfaces for commercial airlinets or anything important. "Let's move the buttons around for no reason so people will have to figure it out?"

Amateur night.

When u add your email account after u enter your password it comes to a screen that says mail contacts calendars notes and has an on off switch next to each of them and you have to click save for it to finish loading your email so there is no default.. Yes all of those switches are set to on by default but you have to choose save. If you go in to settings mail contacts and calendars and turn that option off under your email then they stay on the phone. U may have to copy an paste them on yours notes one last time but they will no longer sync with your email.

Hi boogaboo214 - seems like you've helped a lot of people, so I wanted to know if you have any suggestions for this one:

Only one of my notes disappeared, but it's an important one. I did have notes "on" for three different accounts, one outlook, one gmail, and one yahoo. I've searched all three for any sign of the missing note, and nothing. I've switched the settings as you've described, and the same is true, no note. Any idea?

Many thanks.

Hi,

Can anyone please help me. I have lost some really important notes that I took in a seminar yesterday. I have had a look at all your replies, but still can't find a solution.

I have turned gone into setting and into the mail and turned off the notes. But I can't seem to find it in my gmail account any where. When I turned off the notes on my gmail, I deleted all of the notes there too. =( Is there any chance that I can save my notes??? I want to cry.

Can someone please help me!

Hi boogaboo214,

it seems like your advice worked for a lot of people! I also recently updated to iOS7, however my notes were still there until a couple days later when only one was left. I went into my settings and checked my email and actually there is a notes folder as you said, which only contains the last note that is also still on my iphone. do you have any suggestions where else I could check? I really need the info in those notes so any help would be greatly appreciated!

January 16, lost all but yesterday's notes on my new iPad. REALLY ******. All my work lost from January 1 until the 15th. No, I didn't back it up. Didn't know about that. Yes, yesterdays work is in a "note" file in my gmail.

No, it isn't a yahoo issue because I don't have yahoo. Yes, I've followed through with all the suggestions posted here and still NADA. Not impressed with Apple.

The point still is, as I said before, the notes disappear from my iPhone when I need them. For sure I gp home look on my Yaho mail site and find them, but they are NOT on my phone. I need them to stay on the phone. This is what needs to be fixed. I have been in trouble a few times with my wife, because I arrive at the store, with the grocery list she put on my phone, and it is gone!

If you turn it off then you fix the problem. For those that have not found your notes in any email account do u use iCloud? Go to settings then iCloud and see if your notes are turned on there if so turn notes off and back on to see if they reappear you can also go to iCloud. Com from a computer and log into your Apple ID and see if they are there if they are there and not on your device and turning notes off and back on does not work then reset network settings if that does not work call apple that I something they can help with but only if your notes are saved on iCloud or in a backup can they be brought back
