Itunes 11.1 and IOS 7 suddenly not home sharing

I spent an hour on the phone with Apple support and they advised me that it may be a library issue.

I created a new library, copied everything into it and tried again - still no luck. The advisor I spoke to said that it may be that certain files are not playing nicely with home sharing, so what I'm going to do is try removing groups of files that might cause problems such as weird file formats or files with sample rates other than 44.1kHz etc.

Will post back if I have any luck with this.

A few weeks ago I accepted some free antivirus application fom yahoo, I was offered this for free as I am a BT Broadband user and have a BT Homehub. I just installed it and did not give it much thought. This was at the route of all my home sharing problems. Have disabled all capabilities and now home sharing is fine. I guess at some point I need to tighten up my security and discover exactly what was limiting homeshare. But for now I am just listening to some music

I have been having trouble loading my 'shared' library since early last year.

I had a 4, then a 4S, now a 5S and none of them have worked consistently.

iPad 2 works, iPad 3 does not. Both iPads successfully update over wifi.

Movies that have been ripped as mp4 and put in iTunes work on all devices, music does not.

On iPhone it loads half a circle. On appletv it loads artists names, but cannot seem to find tracks.

I assumed for a whole that it was the 500+ Gigs of music it was trying to sift thru, but I'm just a little ****** off now because my CDs and vinyl are in one room, and the Apple TV and stereo are in a different. Maybe I just need to move to a new house.
