No contact names for imessage after ios7 upgrade on ipad

This worked for me!! It was the icloud issue. Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>iCloud (under accounts)>switch iCloud to on.

I have tried every single one of the proposed fixes, but none of them represents a permanent solutions. Names come and go without any predictable pattern. I've started having this issue since updating to iOS 7 (when still in beta) and have even reported it as a bug to Apple with no fix in month. I am hoping for a proper fix. In the meantime, any other solutions for working around this issue would be much appretiated.

Yes, I was also in the same boat, tried absoultly everything. What eventually got mine working was a full restore. Set the phone up as if you were going to sell it, wipe all the data off it, then restore it. That was the only way I managed to get mine to work again. This is such a common problem, I am amazed Apple have not posted something about it.

Thank you!!! I bought my iPad a year ago and could not find the answer to this issue. I'm from Guernsey and it looks like it occurred because I had that selected as my region format (we also use +44). I can see my iMessage contacts at last.

I Have a similar problem with my iPad mini. All contact names appear but their details have gone. I've tried switching the iPad and iCloud off and on and yo no avail.
