Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. IPod 4th gen cannot install iOS7, since it does not have the technical capability to handle iOS 7. That's why you're getting the "your software is up to date" message.

Agreed.

Why was this "branched to a new discussion" says, even when logged in, "Access to this place or content is restricted"?

Why was a public discussion made private?

Usually happens when posts get removed for things like inflammatory remarks, or off topic ranting or the like.

There probably was nothing relevant to the discussion in those branched posts.

The hardware on the 4G does not support iOS 7

Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club

App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Lol I got my 4th gen traded for an Acatel metro PCS android I found at a bus stop. I honestly have no idea why some one would pay $300 or $500 on a phone when you can just find one and most of the time the owners don't even try to retrieve it.. **** my ex girlfriend found a Galaxy 6 a few months ago. brand new with $50 and the receipt in the case pocket. So brand new owner didn't even put info into it or a lock. Left it on for days and no one called it or nothing to clame it so in 10 years she will probably trade it for a 40th gen ipod lololo

That is stealing. You are obligated to turn in found items to the police.

OMG I so feel your pain . I got this stupid iPod because I already had iTunes way back when I had an iPod shuffle sooo I got the iPod version 4 and a month later the upgraded iPod came out rendering my BRAND NEW IPOD completely USELESS it may as well be a brick or paperweight. I can't get ANY new apps. I have always been an android phone user and LOVE IT. There is no upgrade that u need to have or that render your old galaxy obsolete. I used apple iPod because it used to be easy and streamline to get music rather than mp3 .now songs are more expensive and I can't get any apps . I never have an issue getting latest apps on galaxy . I can get spotify for a one fee monthly membership with unlimited songs or free playlists from MySpace . It does suck the new galaxy doesnt have extendable memory but I have an old Nokia that still works amazing . Galaxy has no need to do this stupid syncing , all apps are available and it's not money hungry coming out with new operating systems so u have to buy a whole new GD device .nope thanks I like an independent system not reliant in syncing with my computer or syncing with a new iOS when I just bought the latest I buy a device I want to use it for years not buy it and a month later find its obsolete. Apple *****

Do you have a technical support question anywhere in that rant that anyone here in this user-to-user forum can help you with?
