ios7 keeps refreshing apps after switching

Well add me to the chorus. I've been having this problem all along and was resigned to it. But yesterday I was composing something fairly long on my iPad, switched to check something and came back to a refresh that wiped out what I had written.

So sad to see there is no real solution.

hope Apple will address this very annoying problem soon.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but im on iOS8 beta 5 on my iPad Air, my iPhone 4s, 5s and my iPad Mini and the issue still exists. I have reached out to some developer friends at apple. Will keep posted if they come back with any encouraging news.

Allow me to throw my hat in the ring too. On both my iphone 5 and ipad mini 7.1.2 every darn time i switch apps and come back it refreshes, regardless of how many background apps are running, or how long i switch away. i constantly lose my place within apps, or heaven forbid i'm in the process of typing something. This reply for example would be lost. I think i went from 7.0.4 where I had no problem, to 7.1.2 when all this started. So I'm not sure what version started this dumb issue! Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any kind of a fix. Is there really no answer or resolution to this?

This has been happening to me too since the upgrade of iOS7. Hopefully if enough customers threaten to leave Apple something will be done.

so, anyone been hands on with the iphones 6 or 6+? any reason to think the more powerful phones will resolve this? do they really still only have 1GB of ram? is it true that 1GB of ram on an iphone is better than 1GB of ram on an android phone? i've been using a google nexus 5 since ios 7 screwed up my iphone 4S. would love to get back into iphone 6, but definitely won't if this problem isn't resolved.

Maybe IOS 8 will address somehow this issue. Let's wait next week.

They have not been released yet.

My husband has iPhone 4s with latest software and when he goes to Settings then cellular data and scrolls down, the Numbers app keeps turning itself on after he turns it off. It isn't updating. I would like to know why this is happening and how to stop it! Thank you!

While this thread has become quite stale I do hope that any subscribed who do take the plunge will update this thread with their experiences with Iphone 6 on IOS8 relative to this issue.

Even if it "seems better" ... I know they are touting the greater device RAM and if they are applying a RAM band aid to bad architecture ... I'm done.

I'm eligible for an update with my carrier in November and am quite eager to get off my current 4/4s due to this issue.

I Have an iPhone 6 plus on order due for delivery early October. As soon as it arrives I will test it and update this thread. I suggest those sitting on the fence about continuing with the iOS systems hold fire until then...

Whelp. Just updated to iOS 8 on my (second) iPad mini with this annoying bug. And absolutely no fixes. In fact the lag when opening iBooks that pops you to the Library before bringing you back to where you were in your book is even worse. I am so incredibly frustrated. Good luck all!

I Was in beta and it was seemingly fixed because I didn't have the habit killing background apps anymore as I did in iOS 7.x. Then I updated to iOS 8. All annoying things are coming back and it's definitely worse than ever because in iOS 7.x the bug would disappear for a week after a DFU. But now it won't disappear for a day at all.

love how my comment about iOS 8 NOT fixing the problem was deleted... It said that I posted a "pol" or "petitshun"... And yes I spelled those wrong on purpose... Figured they'd delete me again if I actually typed them. I love how they said that when I did neither of those 2 things. Really guys? Anyway I have a new iPhone on the way today and I'm now dreading it... Sigh... Acknowledgement of this problem would be fantastic... This thread is like a year old.. Come on...
