Car Bluetooth Steering Controls Not Working with iOS7

I believe it is the same issue, which would indicate that it is an issue with the phone, nothing to do with the car/stereo/speakers/etc.

When I lose Bluetooth control I also lose lock screen (and control center) controls. Other controls work, but no play, pause, skip forward/back, and of course no song resume on reconnection. A hard phone reset or power cycle fixes it every time, I never have to mess with the car. However, the issue re-occurs about every 2-4 days and I have to reset the phone again to get control back. Does everyone else lose lock screen control at the same time as BT?

It may be a hardware issue. I have a 4S. What phone models are exibiting the BT issue?

I'm having the same problem. Plus when I plug in my iPhone it starts playing from iTunes automatically, even if I'm not on Aux. And if I'm playing a Podcast it starts music when it ends. Very annoying and didn't do this before.

I'm having the exact same problem. It happened when I upgraded my phone to iOS7 and it's driving me crazy! Apple seriously needs to get this sorted out, fast! Alternatively they should let us degrade our phones back to the previous iOS.

APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS IM ON THE VERGE OF GETTING RID OF MY IPHONE SIMPLE BECAUSE EVERYTIME THEY COME OUT WITH SOMETHING "NEW" OR BETTER SOMETHING ELSE GOES WRONG BUT THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY SO INNOVATIVE. MY BUTTONS WORKED FINE ON MY STEERING WHEEL BUT SINCE I UPDATED TO I0S7 WHICH WAS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE MY BUTTONS NO LONGER WORK PROPERLY. MY BLUTHTOOTH DOESN'T CONNECT IMMEDIATELY AS IT DID PREVIOUSLY.ITS SO FRUSTRATING AND APPLE BETTER RESOLVE THIS QUICK!!!!.

Found this and it works for me. Only issue is that I have to press play sometimes on my iphone to start, but volume and track skip and back work perfectly. I just did a hard reset and not a full power off.

1 remove all Bluetooth profiles from your phone

2 hard reset your phone (very important step) by holding power and the home button till the phone powers off.

3 while your phone is off go to your car and remove your Bluetooth connection to your device.

4 power your device back on (will take a little longer than normal)

5 pair your device to your car as instructed by car/stereo owners manual

Bunzai911-I tried all of the above and different ways it works but with the side buttons "<>" as oppose to the the up and down buttons and it still doesnt auto connect to my iphone bluetooth once im in the car, and sometime I have to push play from my phone distracting me from the road which wasn't an issue before IOS 7. All these issues were non existant and now they've made my new vehcile less enjoyable because of this stupid update. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'm taking into the dealership today to see if they can fix it.

Hi, I have a 2012 Volvo V50 and I used iPhone 5 and 5S with iOS 7 both and I had the same problem: phone call and music volume works with the steering controls but everytime I had to start and/or change the song from the device..

I also noted that sometimes it works well, but never after that I synchronized the device with iTunes.

I solved the problem in the last days: after that I've updated the iPhone 5S with iTunes (maybe you could also to backup it), I turned off the device and after this it automatically connect to the the car.

In this way I had no problems in the last 5 days so it looks ok now..

It's the only solution I found at the moment, I'll also go to the Volvo garage next week just to double check but I'm sure it's a matter of smartphone and not of the car..

I'm having the same problem with my 2013 Lexus. I hate it!!

I have the same issue with a 2013 Jag XJ.

Only way to change the track is via iPhone.

I have a 2009 Acura and my skip function works off and on too.
