Are you having trouble setting it up? Or problems unlocking your device? and you're having trouble unlocking your device?

I have had 3) 5s iphone’s and I have updated to the latest software I have contacted apple and they said they are not aware of any issues that they know about…….. the one support from apple that was helping me…….no longer returns my calls. Yet I still buy all their products, it would be nice if they said that they are working to resolve the problem…that would be nice.😠

As one of the people who posted about this problem back in October, I can report that the situation has improved. I'm not sure what part of the fix has been the latest iteration of iOS and what is me. I figured out that part of the problem was that when I entered my fingerprint, I was using the central part of the thumb, but when I was trying to unlock it, I was using a slightly different part. Right now, I'm succeeding more than 50% of the time. Like Skinner's pigeons, it's enough to keep me trying.

Thanks for that link, i Just had a chat with customer support and they knew about some issues,

I gave them some info and a link to this tread he would forward it

To right people he said, actually very happy with the support they gave they

Where very friendly and understanding, now let's hope the word gets out to the right place,

Maybe more people can chat/email them straight so it doesn't get lost

On forums the hard work we r all doing trying to resolve their s*** hehe

I keep reading this tread but kinda gave up using TID completely,

Nowadays when i do try new solutions coming up it doesn't even last for an hour :(

I think the chip is too low on memory or something else to do with that..

What i think is strange do.. When it fails and after straight i go to settings

I can see it reading my prints almost 100% of the time (button grays out showing it sees my print)

So that shows to me the sensor is doing fine yet it doesn't work trying to unlock my phone :(

I truly hope it will get fixed i miss using it..

Not only does my fingerprint scanner not work the majority of the time - I'm really tired of seeing "try again - it will also flash up the little apple (like it's doing a reset) about 30% of the time when I use the fingerprint scanner and then go back to the lock screen after a few seconds. Anyone else have that problem?

After struggling w/ this issue since I got my phone, I was at the Apple Store this week and asked the Genius Bar to see if any new improvements had been discovered (this is my 3rd phone w/ the same prob)... the "Genius" suggested I go to : settings/ general/ reset and reset my phone (digital info stays but resets rings, etc...)...

I did this and my fingerprint has been working the longest it has ever worked yet... a couple days with NO resets! Give it a try! Hopefully it will work for you too! (Hoping it will stay this way!)

Got the same issue before, "touch id is not recognized"

i just registered the tip of my thumb instead of actually resting the whole part of it on the scanner/home button. That easy huh? But So far, its working fine. That might help. If it does, please return the favor..take time to listen to my song "Right time" its a modern reggae love song.
