iMessage not sending measages

After the update my iMessage won't always send my messages. It will send all day than all the sudden stop. I've tried turning off wastage like everyone said still won't send turned of my wifi so I was only on my verizon LTE still nonething. The only thing that works is turning off my phone and turning it back on. But this is becoming more and more common. Any advice??

Same here. It will work all day and then suddenly stop sending them. If you're not careful, you can end up with a whole load of unsent messages and it isn't obvious they haven't been sent until you get a text asking if you're still alive! 😕.

Switching off and back on, makes the messages all show as errors and then you can tap on them and resend them all. This is most definately an ios7 issue as I have never experienced it before the update.

I've been having, what seems to be, the same issue. I've also tried power cycling.

I cannot send iMessages via iPhone. The transmission seems stall about 90% of the way as it looks in the progress bar. Reattempts sending at a text message is successful though.

Interesting, as of today, someone I was able to iMessage yesterday, I can no longer do so. I have to now send as text. This person is also an iOS6 user.

Though, I can send iMessages via Messages on my iMac. But I have noticed that previously sent messages are showing up at generic phone numbers instead of the actual person/identity that is usually listed.

I'll try to do a restore my iPhone later, see if that works.

I have spoken to Apple care about this problem. The lady I spoke to was unaware of an issue but urged me to get other sufferers to report it. You can use the website to get them to phone you back. You DO NOT need to have an apple care plan, just click the button enititled 'I want an exception as I have recently updated to ios7'

She says she has elevated this issue to engineers.

It is very typical of Apple to say "we are not aware of any issues" This has been a problem ever since iMessage was introduced a couple of generations ago. I thought it was sort of resolved, but now with iOS7 the problem popped up again. Very annoying. Given that there are dozens of reports in these pages alone (and many in other pages) how can Apple not know?

I have simply resorted to turning off iMessage in settings and just rely on SMS. I realize some may have carrier plans where this can cost some, but should not be much unless you send lots of images via Message

Tried this. Does not work. Messages sent say "Sending..." indefinitely. Have turned iMessage on and off, hard booted phone, did this tip again, nothing. Had to go back to unsent message, long-click, then select Send as Text Message. Since the message doesn't error out, the "Send as SMS" function is useless; you have to turn iMessage off completely.

I don't know what's going. Running 7.0.2 on i5.

Same problems here. One time I had up to 7 messages that I never noticed FAILED to send. The progress bar is stuck and says sending. This has been going on the past 3 or so days. Like others, I have to turn off and on the iPhone to make it work again. FRUSTRATING!!! I'll try the RESET NETWORK settings but I might be joining PatrickL and fail.

My wife has the same hardware and she says she doesn't seem to have the problem. She said the one time she noticed it failed to send was because she was in a bad network area.

I wonder if it's related to all the iCloud accounts being reset back to 5GB after MobileMe members were given 20GB? I noticed that the warning email said that if you didn't delete things in your iCloud to bring it under the 5GB limit, you would not be able to send messages, store documents & data, and so on. I wonder if iMessages falls under the "messages" cited in the email.

SO, once again in a typical Apple way. After they have denied there's a problem (they told me both at the Genius Bar and on the phone that they have not had reports of thisproblem - as recently as a week ago), they now announced that yes there is a problem and they are working on a fix.

When are they going to read what is said in these pages (and others) and acknodledge that there are problems earlier? Such arrogance!

I have had the same issue and have done the network reset. So far it's working again. I'm new to the iPhone and this has been very discouraging for me because I was so excited that my iPhone would sync with my iPad (also new). Now I have this message issue and my photo stream isn't updating either, but I've read on the forums here and understand than I'm not alone with that one either.
