You have to enable Internet Sharing. Open System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing, and you will see this window:
1. Select "Ethernet" next to "Share your connection from", so the MacBook will take the Internet from Ethernet.
2. Tick "Wi-Fi" next to "To computers using", so you will be able to connect the iPad by Wi-Fi.
3. Tick "Internet Sharing" and connect your iPad to the Mac

You'd be much better off buying a router that has WiFi built into it and if needed setting it up as just an Access Point and Switch, disabling the router WAN/Internet part of it. Then your Mac notebook and iPad could connect by WiFi or MBP by Ethernet cable
Ohhhh, you're my angel! Thank you so much!
GOOO APPLE PRODUCTS!! <3
I agree with LowLuster. Get a dedicated router as it has many built-in defenses against tricks people play on the internet.
But do as you wish.
Well I don't have the Ethernet option under wifi
What should I do
Is there any other alternate method to do
FYI I'm using MacBook Pro Retina display 2013 model
Pls help
