Hello I recently installed windows 7 via bootcamp on my MacBook Pro. I was wondering if it can run farcry 3 as I would really like to play this game.

MacBook Pro 13 inch
Intel i7
4 gig ram
Intell HD 3000

I was trying to be gentle. Yes lack of discreet graphics will hurt.
Intel 4000 or later WITH 8GB RAM - as Intel chip relies on system memory and 8GB 'buys' you a bit more memory for video.
Gaming is not where Macs shine. The newer iMacs have upped the graphics and vram up to 2GB and maybe even more now (2013 Haswell). The MacBook Pro is really due for an upgrade soon as well.
A PC gaming system could easily and affordable make a better candidate.

Also I frogot to mention my processor is 2.7 ghz, im not sure if that makes much difference however haha.
Usually MBP uses dual core even on the i7 but yes 2.7 and probably 2nd generation of the i7 series (we are now in 4th gen with Haswell, Sandy Bridge before that)
As I said your minimal RAM is holding back games and graphics.
You can't change the quality of the Intel 3000. You can give it more memory to play with.

I think an SSD will also help your general system. It has for all of mine that I dropped one into.
Thanks for the link, I also just found my computer only supports up to 8 gig ram. Just to confirm, a ssd would be a drive similar to what the macbook air has correct? The all flash storage? I dont know as I would want to do that, if I can do a relatively small upgrade like ram and get some improved performace, so be it. However I think in the future ill just need to get a gaming pc if i want to play many higher end games. I was just wondering if you thought my mac could handle it, I would defintaly give it a try. đ My mac does run Call of Duty 4 just fine, so I am happy with it.
OWC supports 16GB and Apple has never been relizble on specs and now makes it harder to DIY.
An SSD makes it feel better than new though the Air now has a PCIe Samsung controller that exceeds SATA III 6G used once no going back to a non-SSDs

there was a guy who created a DIY external video card setup for his macbook air using the thunderbolt port it was pretty cool and gave it a gaming performance boost
but I dare say this is not for everyone đ
This is very interesting, but I've looked into it and from my understanding it can't be done with a MacBook Pro 13 inch. I think it can be done with a 15 inch however. Seems if an air can do it surely a MacBook Pro could though. . .
intel hd3000 is a pretty bad video card for games

ok thanks, I was considering upgrading my RAM. Do you think upgrading to 8 or maybe 16 gig would allow me to play farcry 3 ?
Although Apple indicates that the Maximum Ram is 8 GB I have had no problem using 16 GB in my 13" MacBook Pro Late 2011 i7.
