If it's a hardware issue, I am just wondering, if it's a hardware issue, then it should not respond to the computer at all.
That is a completely illogical statement. There can be many forms of hardware issue which will allow the device to work but prevent a restore from completing or specific components from functioning.
i had the same problem. my iphone 5 kept on rebooting on its own and i'm constantly getting errors when i'm restoring it. i stumbled on this forum and tried out your suggestion and it worked for me. thanks for sharing. ^_^
Dear Perry,
I too have error 29.
This started when I tried to update to the latest iOS version two days ago.
My iTunes is 12.3.2.35 and I also tried downgrading to iTunes 10.1 wit zapper and Pacifist.
My problem is that whenever I try to Update or Restore over iTunes, the white download bar at iPhone 4S screen never finishes. It's stuck to 2/3 way.
Now, I know that iTunes 12.3 no longer has a support for iTunes 4S (learned after trying this installation and when my phone did not start, gives me only white apple logo or plug to iTunes logo), my questions is:
Does it make sense to reboot my MacBook Pro system over Time Machine to the time when I had older OSX and older version of iTunes?
Would this solve the Restore/Update issue with iPhone 4S?
Thanks,
-Jape
This thread had been dead for over a year and the posted that you responded to hasn't responded here in over 2 years.
Might be a better idea to start a new thread of your own detailing the issues that you are having.
