2004 Powerbook G4 Faulty logic board

I know that faulty logic board issues have been posted, but I'm hoping Apple notices that it's not just affecting the serial numbers listed.

I bought mine in August 2004 and the serial number is out of range, but I'm experiencing the same logic board failure. Of course, I don't have applecare...

Is it really $1000 to replace out of pocket?

Maybe if enough owners in the same situation (out of range serial numbers) post here, Apple will extend the recall.

Dito,
You can call the store and make an appointment. The store manager made our appointment (while at the store) for a couple hours later.

It all depends on how busy they are!

so, where is that apple store? couse here in chile there in nothing they can do.......or at least they say that...

same here.

i loved everything apple, but this is extremely dissapointing and everdy day that apple does nothing about this problem makes me think a lot less of Apple as a company.
