screen repair for iphone 5c

It was only this year that Apple offered any in-store screen replacement and was phased in store by store. It makes sense that they are not yet able to do a screen replacement. Did they happen to know how much the screen replacement was going to cost? I know on the iPhone 5 it was $149.

It's crazy that apple doesn't have replacement parts available when they start shipping a product. I can't get the damaged screen replaced on my daughter's 5c. I can only get it swapped for $269!

Apple does not supply replacement parts except internally so the shipping date makes no difference.

If you take the OOW option the replacement will have the same warranty as the original you are replacing. If you replace the screen through a third party the warranty stops permanently even for OOW replacements.

So if you choose to not get a brand new iPhone 5c for $269, There are other oprions. You could also choose to purchase a brand new iPhone 5c iPhone for $549. I'm quite sure there was an option that would have cost $179, but that one is no longer available.

They haven't even announced yet if they are going to do in-house screen repairs on the 5c and 5s.

Yep, but I think that's something they should have had in place at launch.

Are you sure they are going to even do screen replacements on those models?

They are having enough problems getting displays to complete orders.

You can't get a screen repaired on an iPhone 4 or 4s.

Same issue. The iPhone 5c screen shattered and can't get it fixed. Apple will charge $269 for a replacement device ($%^&). There is a machine apple has built to fix iPhone 5 in store but haven't come out with iPhone 5c screen replacement solution.

From a design perspective, the screen replacement seems simple, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zoyp6RmFjQ but replacement parts purchase are darn expensive. From the cost perspective, the cost of the screen is not more than $44. Paying $269, for this screen does not make sense.

The only thing we can do is wait for the iPhone 5c replacement screens to hit the market and become broadly available.

If you have Applecare+ the replacement cost of the phone is $49.00. Seems like a bargain now as Applecare+ would have only cost you $100.00. Add in the deductible and you would only be out $149.00 and you would be handed a new phone.

With a 5c or 5s, the cost to get a replacement with APP+ is $79, since after september first, they changed the price with new purchases of APP+

I am having the same experenice i droped it from about 4 feet and the screen shatered. I can easily replace it myself but I cant find the replacement glass for it. Altho I did find a website were they do sell replacement glass for the 5c but it cost $180 and there is no way i am paying that. Im just so mad that they dident make the replacement parts avalile before they started selling this product. The only thing we can do is wait a few months and hopefuly they will be selling the replacement glass for $25-$40 like they did with the 4 and 4s.
