screen repair for iphone 5c

Has anyone had the misfortune to have already destroyed the screen of your iphone 5c? a week old and I dropped it. Now it's shattered. I went to the Las Vegas Apple store and they said they don't even have the repair equipment or training yet for these phones and it could be up to 3 weeks before they might have it. I was flabbergasted when they offered TO SELL ME A REPLACEMENT PHONE!!! Does this sound right? They take all the 4's off the shelf weeks before the 5's come out to keep us from buying the 4, then force us to wait for the 5, and then can't even fix it when it does come out. I'm frustrated. This does not seem like a logical customer experience plan.

Dear Apple,

Two things:

  1. If you do not offer screen replacements on one model of phone (5c) but offer it on ALL other phones available...DONT PUT THE 5c ON THE MARKET!
  2. The Apple approved and tested case for the 5c that you sold me BROKE when I dropped my phone, hence my screen cracked. If you tested a case that actually worked perhaps I wouldn't be in this predicament of hating my iphone...miss my blackberry.

The end.

Four truths;

  1. AppleCare+ is $99.
  2. Replacement of a damaged iPhone with AppleCare+ is $79.
  3. For $178 you would get a brand new iPhone ($257 and you could get a second replacement) and wouldn't be at the mercy of parts supplies.
  4. When you drop your iPhone (or BlackBerry) it breaks.
